Earning the forty emblems in Guns of the Patriots is directly related to how you play the game. For some of the more difficult emblems, such as Big Boss Emblem, it is required to play through the game in under five hours with no alerts, kills, continues, heal items, or specials items. Once you have achieved the more difficult emblems, those with similar requirements are easier to obtain. In addition, a completion bonus of either a weapon or special item are generally received for successfully achieving the more difficult emblems.
Some emblems require that you give gifts, while others, such as the Eagle Emblem, require numerous successful headshots.
Collecting all forty of the Emblems will increase the effectiveness of health items used on Snake on your next playthrough. The emblems are also a way of ranking your gameplay as the emblem with the highest "value" will always be chosen as your post-game title.

- 40 different emblems
- Emblems ranked with highest value. The higher the value, the better you played
- Collecting all emblems will increase the effectiveness of health items on your next playthrough
- Beating the game on a higher rank emblem unlocks the emblems beneath it
- Some emblems are considered unique as they are based on certain actions during the game rather than actual gameplay
- Obtain the Big Boss Emblem and the Assassin Emblem before obtaining the Big Boss Mask and Altair Costume
- The Big Boss Mask has an added effect of frightening soldiers when you come near them
