• Big Boss Hard is the hardest difficulty rating that you can play the game on when you first play through MGS4. After you have played through the game, regardless of difficulty, you then open up Big Boss Extreme mode. If you are able to finish the game in less than 5 hours and 30 minutes, set off no more than 3 alerts, kill no enemies, do not continue, do not use life recovery items and do not use stealth items, you unlock the Fox Hound emblem and unlock the Thor 45-70 weapon.

• Big Boss Hard Difficulty

  1. Guard patrols are tighter
  2. Guards see and hear farther/better
  3. Life Bar is smaller
  4. Damage to the player is higher
  5. Enemy can take more damage
  6. Guards have more stamina
  7. Ammo is lower
  8. Psyche bar depletes faster (possible)
  9. Weapons worth more Drebin Points
