Merrin Dungey rose to fame playing Sydney Bristow's best friend, Francie Calo, in the ABC spy drama Alias. She went on to star in the television shows Malcolm in the Middle, Summerland and The King of Queens. While she appeared in the pilot episode of the medical drama Private Practice, Dungey was replaced by Audra McDonald in the series.
