Mena Suvari is an American actress, model and fashion designer. Her first television appearance was on a commercial for Rice-a-Roni at the age of 13. Suvari's first film role was in the 1997 movie Nowhere. In 1999 she starred as Angela Hayes in American Beauty which nominated her for a BAFTA award. Suvari plays on the World Poker Tour for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Suvari also had the role of Heather in two of the American Pie films in 1999 and in 2001, which nominated her for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award. In 2004, she became a reoccurring character on the HBO series Six Feet Under in which she played a lesbian performance poet and artist, Edie. In 2008, Survari starred as stripper Sandy Mulphy who was accused of murdering her boyfriend in the Lifetime movie Sex and Lies in Sin City.
