When she transitioned to acting, she was featured in guest appearances on television shows such as ER and Chicago Hope. But it wasn't until her roles in the hit teen comedy American Pie featuring Shannon Elizabeth, and her role as teen temptress in the Academy Award winning film American Beauty did she establish herself as a leading box office ingenue.

In the years following those two blockbuster hits, her career has focused on smaller Independent films, and she was featured in a memorable 7 episode run on the hit HBO Drama Six Feet Under.
