Memory Foam

Memory foam is a material made of polyurethane with additional chemicals to create a variety of products including mattresses, pillows and shoes.

History

Although first designed to be used in space by NASA, the technology was first used in hospitals to provide better blood circulation to bed-ridden patients. Memory foam is typically more dense than an average mattress, and uses body heat to mold to the shape of the body or object touching it.

Memory Foam Products

Memory foam is used for a variety of products, most commonly bedding. There are a variety of shapes and sizes of memory foam pillows as well as full mattresses and thinner mattress toppers. The material is also used in slippers and even in car seats and strollers for children.
