MeMe Roth is founder of the National Action Against Obesity, a volunteer non-partisan group that is dedicated to reversing the affects of obesity. Roth has stirred up the junk food issue at Public School 9 in New York City where her children attend school. Between meeting with parents and teachers - and even sending out emails to groups of parents - Roth has alerted the public that while kids are given healthy lunches, the school supports other activities (such as birthday parties) that allow junk food into the food foray. MeMe Roth has a degree in journalism and has spent most of her career in marketing and public relations, working for such firms as Edelman Public Relations, Ogilvy Public Relations and General Electric's GEIS. In recent years she has turned her focus towards the eradication of obesity. MeMe Roth is an outspoken anti-obesity activist that has garnered criticism from many people over the years, including the YMCA and fans of American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.
