I'm a Chicago based television engineer with an eccentric sense of humor trying to maintain excellence in an imperfect world. I'm often called "Darth" due to my height and preference to wear all black, as you can see in my profile picture.

The short version of my job description is: "Keep everything electronic functional". I do much more than that. I'm also the network / firewall administrator, and have been called upon for the occasional voice over or to produce a commercial. I also generate, upload, and maintain the majority of video / audio assets for my employer's websites and other divisions.

Before you ask where I work presently - my employer is very high profile and has this thing about employees using the company name & your name at the same time on the web while you are employed with them. They have people whose sole joy in life seems to be to catch you using their branded names in any way outside of "Marketing Department approved campaigns" and to report you to upper management. To make matters even more interesting - they have non-disclosure and non-compete documents I had to sign to work here.

Before going full time into television, I was an electronic security systems administrator and investigator / raw security data analyst for a very large bank in the Chicago area. My duties there included interfacing with local and federal law enforcement agencies as needed to produce digital copies of surveillance or computer log data for use in ongoing investigations and / or reviewing card-key access reports during investigations.

I keep abreast of changes in technology through podcasts and specially selected websites - and end up knowing more than my boss does so when it comes time to implement some new tech, I can answer his questions quickly.

In my spare time (whenever that is), I study Mandarin Chinese or listen to techno. I used to play a certain MMORPG - "For The Horde!", but since I have no internet access at home, that's on hiatus for a while.
