I sell BS meters*.
Linux fan, just switched from Mepis to Ubuntu 9.10-RC (If you are thinking about installing Ubuntu, my first recommendation would be, Install the latest version of Linux Mint. see: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php my next recommendation would be the current Ubuntu or Mepis. Read more about the various flavor of linux available at http://distrowatch.com/ )
Grab any live CD and give it a try. (this applies to any Linux distro now. If you have trouble getting the live cd to work on your hardware, you probably want to try a different distro.)
* Seriously, that used to be my job. Contact me if you need blood sugar test strips AND you have Medicare, i'll put you in touch with my former employer. They are good people who play by the rules.
