Hi everyone!

My name is Allie and I live in Los Angeles; aka. The Smoggy Lady. I'm an implant from the Lone Star state and proud of my Texas roots as most true Texans are! I do love me some L.A. though -- she's become a decade-long infection I can't seem to shake off.

Oddly enough, I'm both a night and a morning person, which is why I am still conflicted and not used to my hours yet. I am a RFTG here at Mahalo and I swing the graveyard shift -- I've turned the meaning of 9 to 5 into something else entirely. And I love working all night long, that's the thing! The darkness makes me all giddy and I'm most creative at night so it helps with all the writing. My problem is that I love the daytime too, so I've kinda talked some aspect of my mind into not sleeping after my shifts ----- which means I have a few nights a week where I like have nothing but an hour power nap, several nights where I sleep 4-5 hours, and then I have 1 marathon night of like 9 hours reserved for one of my nights off. It's all getting to be a bit annoying as far as my refusal to close my lids from 5am to 11am. It shouldn't be that hard, right? Ah, but no. Here I am still awake and fighting fatigue.

So I write. That's my thing; what I am most passionate about. Always have been -- started writing intensely at 11 and finished several amateur, handwritten novels in early high school. Now I am just trying to shake the last decade out of my head and clear the mental synapses so that I might empty out a few scripts. I think too much like a novelist, but as a novelist I write epics that never find their way towards the exit sign -- my ongoing migraine clocks in at page 679 or something crazy like that and I'm afraid it is only halfway complete. Sigh. So, it's either that or figuring out a way to see my stories as though they were being brought to life on screen.......check back in with me. Maybe I'll actually set goals I can keep this time around. Here's hoping.

I am rather an insane baseball fan -- I have to have an MLB package on both my cable and my internet -- just in case there is a blackout on one and not the other, or if I am out eating during a game I can just log in and scream for my Houston Astros while eating.

Reading lots of fun and exciting non-fiction books. Last one I finished was If Proust Was A Neuroscientist. Awesome read.

Got a huge love for thoroughbred racing; absolutely love Santa Anita, but my favorite track is still Saratoga in Saratoga Springs, New York.

I have a brat cat named Neeka that likes to talk all night long........and I've got nothing else for now. There are better rundowns on my blog and/or other links.
