Bio: I've been hanging out at Mahalo for over a year now, and have gradually been involved in lots of different areas.
I love helping people, especially anyone new to Mahalo who is finding it all a bit daunting and needs a little guidance. I am happy to assist anyone who asks me for help. Just ask and I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.
In my other life: I currently live in Spain, although I am British born and bred. My choice to live here was based purely on financial and health grounds. When I moved to Spain it was a relatively cheap place to live, though that has changed drastically in the last 10 years. The Spanish (Mediterranean) diet is considered one of the healthiest in the world, and the weather is very conducive to physical well being.
My mother was a seamstress and taught me how to use a needle and thread at a very early age, so I enjoy discovering anything to do with crafts and creativity.
I have a serious passion for animals (all animals, not just the cuddly ones) so I am heavily involved in animal welfare in Spain.
I am a trained chef and specialize is entrées and sweets, having been shown the ropes by a locally esteemed Spanish chefess for three years in her kitchens. I was her right hand "man" so to speak.
Prior to my move to Spain I was a technical author and support specialist for 20 years and worked for an American company who had offices in Guildford, England.
