Melvin Mora is an infielder for the Baltimore Orioles. A native of Venezuela, the Houston Astros signed Mora as an amateur free agent in 1991. Mora was granted free agency in 2007, and signed with the New York Mets the following summer. Mora Made his MLB debut for the Mets on May 30, 1999. The next season, Mora was sent to the Orioles along with Pat Gorman, Lesli Brea, and Mike Kinkade deal for then Orioles shortstop Mike Bordick. Mora's best season with the Orioles came in 2004, when he would hit .340 Batting Average, 27 Home Run, 107 Runs Batted In, and finished 18th in American League MVP voting.
