  • Melt-Banana is a Japanese three-piece noise rock band which formed in 1992. Their sound is unique even amongst other noise bands, and features a complex arrangement of sometimes abrasive sounds. They will layer randomized sound effects with overlapping guitar riffs, and singer Yasuko Onuki's vocals are often high-pitched and rapid. Their characteristic energy and performing styles garnered them as much attention for their live performances as their studio releases, which have also been numerous.
