Melissa Weber, a 27-year-old social studies teacher at Junior High School 8 in Jamaica, Queens, NYC, was charged with the statutory rape with a 14-year-old student in late-May 2009. Weber's was charges included multiple counts of rape and sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, Weber faces up to seven years in prison.
