Rihanna's Calls for Help

According to notes taken by LAPD detectives investigating the alleged assault of Rihanna by Chris Brown, the singer tried twice to contact her personal assistants for help during the assault. Rihanna first tried to call assistant Jennifer Rosales, but got her assistant's voicemail. The detective's notes say that during Rosales' voicemail greeting Rihanna pretended to have reached her assistant, saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there." Brown allegedly responded, "You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I really am going to kill you."

At another point in the alleged assault, detectives' notes tell us that Rihanna tried to use her phone to send a text message to her assistant and friend Melissa Ford. Before she was able to complete the message, Brown allegedly took the phone from Rihanna and threw it out the window.

After the Alleged Assault

Ford told police investigators after the alleged assault that Brown had called her later that evening and acted as if nothing had happened. Ford told Brown that she had been advised of the earlier incident and that the police had been contacted. Brown is said to have asked Ford if Rihanna had given his name to authorities.
