Melanie Griffith is an Academy Award-nominated actress who is the daughter of film actress Tippi Hedren and ad executive Peter Griffith. She made a name for herself in the mid 1970s after appearing in the films, Night Moves, Smile, The Drowning Pool and One on One.
In 1984, Griffith appeared as "Holly Body" in the Brian De Palma film, Body Double. In 1986, she played "Audrey Hankel" in Jonathan Demme's crime comedy, Something Wild.
In 1988, Griffith appeared in what may be considered her most famous role, that of "Tess McGill" in the Mike Nichols film, Working Girl. For her performance in Working Girl, Griffith recieved a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar Nomination for Best Actress.
