Melanie Chisholm

Melanie Chisholm, also known as Sporty Spice and Mel C, is a member of the band Spice Girls.

Chisholm and partner Thomas Starr welcomed their first child, Scarlet Starr, on February 22, 2009, in London.

Chisholm's pregnancy with her first child was announced in August of 2008. Baby Scarlet was born at 4:10 p.m. on February 22, 2009, in a London hospital. She weighed 8 lbs., 3 oz. Spice Girls is an English pop girl band formed in 1994. The band consists of Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell. They released their debut album, Spice, in 1996 selling over 23 million copies. The group, signed to Virgin Records, has sold over 60 million records worldwide and has won three American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, four Brit Awards as well as several others. The Spice Girls have released four albums including Spice, Spiceworld, Forever and Greatest Hits. They have also released 11 singles and five videos.
