  • Mel White is a writer gay-rights activist and clergyman. He began his career as a writer for evangelist Jerry Falwell. When he came out as a homosexual, he and Falwall parted ways. White then started his own organization called Soulforce with his partner Gary Nixon.

    Mel White is also the father of writer/actor Mike White. The two competed on the reality show The Amazing Race and finished in 6th place.
