    Mega Man 9 was developed by Inti and Capcom for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Developers for the game have said that they wanted to make it like the original Mega Man, so players won't have the upgrades that were included in later sequels to the game.   • Every Boss Has a Weakness

    • All eight Robot Masters are weak to one specific weapon. Hit them with these weapons and you won't even break a sweat.
      1. Splash Woman - H. Chase
      2. Concrete Man - L. Trident
      3. Galaxy Man - C. Shot
      4. Jewel Man - BH Bomb
      5. Plug Man - J. Satellite
      6. Tornado Man - P. Ball

  • The Level Order

    • When you begin a new game, you are free to play the levels in any order you wish. But it makes the game easier if you have the correct Special Weapon for each level. Use this boss order to ensure that you'll always have the upper hand.

  • Extra Uses for Special Weapons

    1. Laser Trident: Passes through all solid objects. Excellent for destroying enemies that hide behind shields. It is similar to the Mega Buster, but with increased power.
    2. Concrete Shot: Use it to create concrete blocks. It can also be used to freeze falling lava.
    3. Black Hole Bomb: Sucks in enemies and bullets when detonated. Use it to deflect incoming projectiles.
    4. Jewel Satellite: Creates a shield that deflects bullets and kills weaker enemies.
    5. Plug Ball: Best used in vertical areas. It climbs walls to attack enemies.
    6. Tornado Blow: This will immediately blow away all enemies and cause certain platforms to rise. Use this to clear the screen when the fighting gets too hectic.
    7. Magma Bazooka: Not only does this weapon shoot in 3 directions at once, it can also be charged for extra damage.
    8. Hornet Chase: The hornets automatically attack enemies anywhere on the map. They also will retrieve power ups and bring them back to you.

  • Splash Woman

    1. Run to the right and avoid both of the sea urchins and fall down the pit.
    2. TIP: When submerged in water, Mega Man can jump much higher than normal. Use this to avoid enemies and easily navigate pits.
    3. The sea urchin enemies will remain dormant until you shoot them or get too close. Once activated, they will circle around you and explode. It's best to avoid them since they cannot be killed without the B. Bomb weapon.
    4. Continue heading to the right. Defeat the octopus robots by shooting their heads.
    5. The last Octopus robot guards a big bolt. This bolt is worth 20 regular bolts so be sure to get it. Defeat the Octopus and jump over the pit to grab your prize. Once you have the bolt, fall down the pit.
    6. Spikes in the center of the screen will fork the path. Take the left path.
    7. Grab the 1-up. Jump down the little crevice between the spikes. As long as you don't move left or right while falling you won't touch them.
    8. Walk right and you will see two sea urchins. Pass underneath the first Urchin so that he doesn't wake up. You cannot avoid waking the second Urchin, so dodge it until it self-destructs.
    9. Shoot the Wall Climber and fall down the pit.
    10. Land on the middle platform. Carefully jump down to the right avoiding the spikes.
    11. TIP: If you wait on the middle platform, a Sword Fish will swim from the left and attack you. Let yourself get hit and Mega Man will flash for one second. Mega Man is invulnerable while flashing, even from spikes.
    12. Hug the left wall as you fall down to land in an indent with a large health pellet. Grab the pellet and jump back down into the pit.
    13. Avoid the spikes as you fall down for several screens.
    14. Land on the ground and then run to the right. Defeat both octopus robots and a wall-climber. Watch carefully for the swordfish that swims from the left side of the screen.
    15. Ride the bubbles upwards. Small bubbles will disappear shortly after you jump on them. Large bubbles will withstand your weight indefinitely. Grab the large energy pellet and then jump onto the large bubble that appears on the right hand side. Ride that bubble up to the next screen.
    16. Shoot the swordfish that attacks from the left. Jump onto the big bubble that appears to your left. Ride that bubble up to the next screen.
    17. More swordfish will attack from the right. Shoot or jump over them as they appear. Jump directly to the next big bubble that appears on the right side. Ride it to the next screen.
    18. There is an optional bolt to the left side of the screen. Jump on the tiny bubbles one by one to reach it. The jump back is difficult. Wait until the big bubble rises on the right side and leap. If you miss, you have to repeat the previous screens.
    19. Head right and defeat both wall-climbers. Then go up the ladder.
    20. In this room there will be moving platforms coming out of the walls. They will disappear after a few seconds. Defeat the wall-climber before navigating the platforms. The platforms will come in this order: right, left, left, right.
    21. TIP: Don't be in a rush. The platforms move in a set pattern. So watch the pattern several times before making your move.
    22. The next room doesn't have any enemies, but has a tougher pattern for it's moving platforms. There are also spikes on the floor, so be more careful about your jumps.
    23. Two platforms come from the right wall. Jump on each as they approach and land on the indent to the right.
    24. A third platform comes from the right. Jump on it and ride it until the 4th platform comes from the left wall. Quickly jump onto that platform and then jump to grab the ladder.
    25. Notice there are two spikes floating in the center of the room. Two platforms will appear on the left wall. Jump on both platforms while remaining on the left side of the spikes.
    26. Two more platforms will approach from the right wall. Jump onto each as they approach.
    27. A fifth platform appears on the left wall. Jump over it and grab the ladder. Climb up to the next screen.
    28. Avoid waking up the urchins and shoot the approaching swordfish. Fall down the pit to the right.
    29. Shoot the wall-climber and enter the boss door.

  • Boss Fight: Splash Woman

    1. Start shooting as the fight begins.
    2. She always follows the same pattern. Shoot her as she sings. During her singing three waves of fish will attack from the sides.
    3. Dodge the first wave of fish by jumping over them. Land before the second wave of fish. The second and third waves cannot hit you while standing on the ground.
    4. Once she reaches the top she will use her trident to shoot bolts down at you. Dodge these bolts by running back and forth.
    5. Finally, dodge her as she stabs her trident into the ground. Use this opportunity to rapidly shoot her before she repeats the pattern.

  • Concrete Man

    1. Run to the right and stop at the first pit. Shoot the bird robots flying from the right.
    2. TIP: When the birds approach, shoot the boulders they carry. They will simply fly away once you destroy their boulder.
    3. The pits here have hidden robots that jump out as you approach. Shoot them before hopping over the pit.
    4. Continue running to the right and shoot the canon. You can shoot its projectiles to destroy them. Climb the ladder after you defeat it.
    5. Use R. Coil to jump directly to the top left platform. Climb the ladder to the next screen.
    6. Use R. Coil again to get the 1-up. Continue running to the right.

  • Mini-Boss: The Three Elephants

    1. The level checkpoint is directly after you defeat the third elephant. Use the L. Trident to shoot through their balls and do extra damage.
    2. Elephant 1: Jump onto the ladder and climb midway so that he can't hit you with his ball. Freely shoot the elephant until he blows up.
    3. Elephant 2: Immediately run up to the elephant and stand in front of his green ball. The elephant will bounce the ball over you. Shoot him as he tosses the ball.
    4. When the ball reaches the left hand side of the screen, the elephant will suck both you and the ball into him. Run to the left to avoid being pulled into the elephant and jump over the ball as it approaches.
    5. He will repeat this pattern, so dodge and shoot until he is defeated.
    6. Elephant 3: Stand in the center between the two pits.
    7. Jump over the elephant's ball while shooting him.
    8. Be careful not to fall into the pits as he sucks his ball back to him.

  • Concrete Man Part 2

    1. Destroy the spider robot by shooting him while he is still on the ceiling. He will drop down the floor when you get too close. After defeating him fall down the pit to the left.
    2. Shoot the canon and then use R. Coil to reach the bolt.
    3. In the next section, certain blocks are "false blocks". If you land on one, you will fall directly through it and fall to your death. You can tell the false blocks by the square pattern on them.
    4. Walk to the right and jump over the false blocks. Pass behind the waterfalls and shoot the canon. Climb the ladder to the next screen.
    5. Shoot the canon to the left. Climb the ladder before alerting the spider robot. Destroy it and jump over the false blocks. Climb another ladder to reach the next screen.
    6. Destroy the plant robots and collect the energy pellets.
    7. The next section has platforms that will quickly fly up or down once you touch them. Green platforms fall down and red platforms fly up.
    8. Jump across the platforms and enter the boss door.

  • Boss Battle: Concrete Man

    1. TIP:Use L. Trident to do extra damage to him. It will also destroy his concrete blocks.
    2. , Concrete Man randomly uses one of several moves at any given time. He does not follow a set pattern.
      1. Charge: Concrete Man rams into the wall. Shoot him as he approaches and then jump over him to avoid damage. Turn around and continue shooting him until he does another move.
      2. Stomp: Concrete Man jumps high into the air and butt-stomps the ground. Avoid being directly underneath him. As he lands, jump so that he doesn't stun you. Shoot him until he does another move.
      3. Concrete Blast: Concrete Man shoots three concrete blocks at you. This move freezes you in place when it hits you. It's easiest to avoid these blocks the further away you are from him.

  • Galaxy Man

    1. TIP: Now that you've defeated two Robot Masters, you have a surplus of extra weapons. It's best to save your C. Shot for the fight with Galaxy Man himself, but supplement the L. Trident for your regular Mega Buster when some extra firepower.
    2. Shoot the UFOs as they appear. They fly in a set pattern.
    3. Climb both ladders and destroy the metool (Hard hat robot) guarding the small screw. Shoot its face to defeat it.
    4. Avoid the spikes as you jump down. Shoot the other metool. Continue running to the right.
    5. The next section has two ladders over a pit of spikes. Climb the first ladder and jump onto the small platform between both ladders. Jump to the next ladder and quickly climb it to avoid three UFOs that fly from the right.
    6. Shoot the Metool sitting on the center platform. After defeating it, climb the ladder and jump onto the platform where the metool was. Jump to the next ladder and climb up to the next screen.
    7. The next area has two purple teleporters in the middle of the screen. Touching these will cause you to warp to a different teleporter and spring high into the air.
    8. Enter the left teleporter. You will appear jumping out of the right teleporter. Fall back into the right teleporter.
    9. Grab the ladder as you appear out of the left teleporter and climb to the next screen.
    10. Use R. Coil to get the energy pellet. In this area propeller robots grab Mega Man and force him to run at high speed.
    11. TIP: Remember that you can still jump when grabbed by a propeller robot. Don't let them force you into pits or spikes.
    12. Run to the right and jump over the pits. Dodge the propeller robots by running back to the left when they fly at you.
    13. TIP: If you get grabbed, hold right on the D-pad as you jump over the pits. That way your momentum will continue even if they drop you over a pit.
    14. Drop down into the last pit. Immediately hold left to avoid falling into spikes on the next screen.
    15. Climb the ladder and shoot the metool. Fall into the pit to reach the next screen. Hug the right wall to reach an indent with weapon ammunition. Then jump back into the pit.
    16. Keep to the right as you fall into the next screen. Shoot the UFOs and climb the ladders.
    17. The next area has more teleporters. Jump into the first teleporter. You will appear out of the teleporter at the top of the screen. Fall down into the teleporter directly to the right and below. This will shoot you out of the teleporter on the right wall. Land on the ground and continue to the next area.
    18. This area has three eyeball monsters. They split into four smaller monsters when shot, so it's best to simply avoid them.
    19. Jump over the first two eyeball monsters. You have to kill the third one, so shoot it and then destroy the mini-eyeballs that appear. Climb the ladder to the next screen.
    20. More eyeball monsters. Jump over the first one onto the platform in the center. Use R. Coil collect a 1-up on the right side of the screen.
    21. Go back to the platform you were just on. Jump to the next platform on your left. Wait for the second eyeball monster to swing all the way to the right before jumping for the ladder. Climb it to the next screen.
    22. Destroy the shield robots by shooting them in the back. Climb the ladders and destroy both shield robots. Avoid all of the eyeball robots.
    23. In the next area run all the way to the right wall and destroy the metool. Enter the indent and travel left.
    24. Notice that there are spikes on the wall of this indent. As you travel to the left a propeller robot comes down to grab you and throw you into the spikes. Avoid it by inching across the level slowly and quickly running back to the right when it appears.
    25. If it does grab you, jump over the spiked wall to avoid dying. The propeller robot will keep spawning in the same place until you successfully avoid it.
    26. After avoiding the propeller robot, climb the ladder and shoot the other metool.
    27. Stay on the ground to avoid the UFOs. Collect the two small screws while you wait for them to pass by.
    28. After climbing the ladder you will be in a room with spikes on the walls. Shoot the UFOs and jump onto the platforms to your right.
    29. TIP: Don't be in a rush to collect the large energy pellet to your left. A propeller robot is waiting to grab you and throw you into the spiked wall. Move carefully and avoid it.
    30. The last section of the level contains many teleporters. First collect the large screw at the bottom of the screen by jumping around the teleporter and into the indent.
    31. From the indent, jump into the teleporter directly to your right.
    32. Notice that one teleporter is higher than the others. You want to jump into the teleporter directly below it and slightly to the right. When you do, you will appear next to the boss door. Enter it to start the fight with Galaxy Man.

  • Boss Fight: Galaxy Man

    1. TIP:Equip the concrete shot in order to do extra damage to Galaxy Man..
    2. Shoot him when he's on the ground. With the C. Shot you should kill him very quickly.
    3. Galaxy Man has two attacks that he will use randomly.
    4. Lunge: He only does this move when standing on the ground. Galaxy Man levitates slightly off the ground and charges at you. Jump over him to avoid damage. He is vulnerable the entire time, so shoot him as much as you can.
    5. Black Hole Bomb: This attack has two distinct parts. First, Galaxy Man flies straight up to the top of the screen and shoots a purple bomb down at you. The bomb is homing, so run away until it explodes. Once the bomb explodes it will turn into a black hole and suck Mega Man towards it. Run the opposite direction to avoid being sucked in.
    6. After the bomb detonates, Galaxy Man teleports underneath the explosion. He is vulnerable, so shoot him while avoiding his black hole.
    7. After the black hole disappears, Galaxy Man flies around the top of the screen before charging back down to the ground. Start shooting him as soon as he lands.

  • Jewel Man

    1. There are no enemies on the first screen, so fall down into the pit.
    2. The next section is a long hallway that contains many enemies. It's best to move slowly and defeat them one at a time.
    3. Shoot the metools when they show their faces. Defeat the leaf robots while they are floating down to the ground. Once grounded they will run back and forth quickly, so shoot them before they have the chance.
    4. This area also introduces minekart robots. They shoot pebbles when taking damage, so attack them from a distance. Lastly they will explode once you kill them. So wait patiently for them to finish dying before rushing in.
    5. Continue running to the right killing the robots and canons as they appear. When you reach the end of the hall fall down into the pit.
    6. Shoot the spider robots as they fall off of the ceiling. Fall into the pit at the bottom left.
    7. Destroy both spider robots and head to the left to the next screen.
    8. The platforms in this room are pendulums. Running back and forth across them will cause them to swing. Jump onto the first pendulum and then jump directly to the second. Run across the second pendulum and jump to the third.
    9. On the third pendulum, run back and forth so that it picks up some momentum. When it swings all the way to the right, leap onto the fourth pendulum.
    10. The jump off of the fourth pendulum is the hardest since the wall directly to the right is covered in spikes. Carefully control the pendulum's momentum so that it is swinging fairly slowly. As it swings back towards the left jump down onto the ground and enter the door.

  • Mini-Boss: Rock Monster

    1. 9 Boulders will fall down from the ceiling in random locations. Dodge them to avoid taking damage. Keep towards the center so you don't get trapped against a wall.
    2. The tenth boulder that falls is the mini-boss. He is the only boulder with a face.
    3. Jump just as the boss hits the ground to avoid being stunned. As you land start shooting him with L. Trident.
    4. After a moment the boss will run at you quickly and then roll up the wall. Jump over him to avoid taking damage.
    5. The rock monster will repeat this pattern until you kill him. Keep shooting him and he should fall within 2 or 3 repeats of his pattern. When you've killed him, exit through the door on the right.

  • Jewel Man Part 2

    1. Fall down into the pit to the right.
    2. Defeat the three jewel robots in this room. They are vulnerable when they show their faces. Use the M. Buster since it will kill them in 1 hit. Jump into the pit after you've killed them.
    3. Shoot the minekart robot. Keep your distance to avoid taking damage. Then destroy the second minekart robot on the other side of the pit, DO NOT TRY AND JUMP OVER IT.
    4. When you approach the pit, a robot will come flying out. Shoot it before jumping over. Otherwise it will knock you into the pit. The next pit contains a robot as well.
    5. Jump across the platforms to reach another pendulum. Swing it very gently and jump between the spikes.
    6. Shoot the jewel robot and continue to the right. Avoid the robot running back and forth on the floor. Destroy another jewel robot and fall down the pit.
    7. The next room has spikes covering the ceiling and walls. As you fall, move to the left so that you land on the pendulum. You'll need to fall into a pit directly under the pendulum.
    8. When the pendulum makes a big swing to the right, run to the left and jump off into the pit.
    9. Defeat the spider robots as you run to the right.
    10. A large robot that moves like a pogo stick appears just before the boss door. Use L. Trident to kill it. Then enter the door to fight Jewel Man.

  • Boss Fight: Jewel Man

    1. TIP: Equip the B. Bomb to do extra damage to Jewel Man. The bomb will also destroy his Jewel Satellite.
    2. Jewel Man runs back and forth across the screen regardless of where you are.
    3. Shoot the B. Bomb and detonate it on top of Jewel Man. This will damage him and destroy his shield.
    4. If Jewel Man has his shield too long, he will use it as a projectile. So destroy it quickly.
    5. Switch to the M. Buster or L. Trident and shoot Jewel Man while his shield is down.
    6. Whenever you jump, so will Jewel Man. When he is running towards you, do a quick hop to trick him into jumping. While he is airborne, quickly run underneath him to avoid taking damage.
    7. Eventually Jewel Man will regain his shield. Use the B. Bomb to destroy it again.

  • Plug Man

    1. Head to the right and shoot the cylinder robots coming out of the pipes. They spawn infinitely, so shoot them and keep moving.
    2. Dodge the electric robots that circle around the platforms. They are invulnerable to everything except the black hole bomb. It's easiest to simply avoid them.
    3. You can't reach the big bolt at the end of the room. You need the H. Chase weapon from Hornet Man. You can always revisit stages, so come back for it later.
    4. Climb the ladder into the next room. Patiently avoid both of the electric robots before climbing the next ladder.
    5. Defeat both of the metools and the canon.
    6. TIP: The next area has disappearing blocks. Carefully watch their pattern before attempting to jump across them.
    7. The first disappearing block section is very straightforward. Jump across the blocks as they appear. Be careful to avoid the metool at the end of the disappearing blocks.
    8. Kill the metool and jump across four more disappearing blocks. Very quickly jump onto the regular platform and leap to the next disappearing block. Then jump from that block onto the solid ground.
    9. The next disappearing block section is optional. It leads to a big bolt and a 1-up. Jump across the disappearing blocks as they appear. The third block will be lower than the others. Grab the big bolt. Jump across 2 more disappearing blocks to get the 1-up.
    10. The next area introduces static-electric fields. An evil Mega Man clone will appear whenever you pass through one. Run past both electric fields and fall down the pit before the clones can spawn.
    11. Jump over the electric field to reach more disappearing blocks.
    12. Hop onto the first and second disappearing blocks. Stand on the second block while the other blocks disappear. Jump onto the third block as it appears and then jump up, the fourth block will appear underneath you.
    13. The next two disappearing blocks are straightforward. Jump onto them as they appear and then leap to the regular platform.
    14. Dodge the electric robots as you wait for the next section of disappearing blocks to materialize.
    15. Jump across the blocks as they appear to reach a solid platform.
    16. Hop across the next three disappearing blocks. They will ascend somewhat vertically. Wait for the fourth block to appear at the bottom of the screen before jumping down.
    17. Two more blocks will appear next to the fourth disappearing block. Run across them and jump across one more disappearing block to reach solid land.
    18. Use R. Coil to reach several bolts and an E-tank.
    19. Run to the right to avoid the Mega Man clones. Trick them into running into the spikes to defeat them.
    20. Grab the large energy pellet and the weapon ammunition.
    21. Continue heading right. Use R. Coil again to reach a big bolt and then use the ladder to climb to the next screen.
    22. More disappearing blocks. Jump on the first two and then jump directly up into the air. Three more disappearing blocks will appear and catch you. Walk to the right to grab a 1-up before climbing the ladder.
    23. Stand on the left side of the ladder to avoid all three electric robots.
    24. Shoot the pogo stick robot with L. Trident when it jumps from the right side of the screen. It's possible to run underneath it when it jumps high.
    25. Enter the boss door to begin the fight with Plug Man

  • Boss Fight: Plug Man

    1. TIP: Equip the J. Satellite to do extra damage to Plug Man.
    2. Use the J. Satellite to become completely invulnerable to Plug Man's projectiles.
    3. The easiest way to damage Plug Man is to fire the J. Satellite into him.
    4. Your J. Satellite weapon will run out of ammo before it's possible to defeat Plug Man. Equip the L. Trident or M. Buster when you run out of ammo.
    5. Be careful, without the J. Satellite you are no longer invulnerable to his attacks.
    6. Avoid touching Plug Man as he jumps around the stage randomly.
    7. Jump over his plug balls as he shoots them. Every plug ball travels across the floor, climbs up to the ceiling, and then drops on top of Mega Man.
    8. Shoot Plug Man several more times to defeat him. His health should be very low after you've used all your J. Satellite.

  • Cutscene: Rush Jet

    1. Watch the cutscene where Auto creates the R. Jet for Mega Man.
    2. This weapon lets Mega Man fly for a limited amount of time.
    3. TIP: R. Jet can be used to bypass some of the tougher platforming sections of the game. It's especially useful in Tornado Man's stage and Wily's Castle.

  • Tornado Man

    1. Hop onto the platform and climb the ladder to the next screen.
    2. Shoot the balloon robot in the face to defeat it instantly. Shooting its balloon will cause it to fly around the screen.
    3. Jump across the two left platforms and climb the ladder.
    4. Skip the next screen by using R. Coil to jump directly to the next ladder.
    5. Run past the balloon robot to reach the magnetic platforms. Magnetic platforms move back and forth across a visible line. Mega Man will rotate around them when he makes contact.
    6. TIP: There are two ways to release from a magnetic platform. Pressing jump when Mega Man is standing on top of the platform will cause him to jump up. But pressing jump when Mega Man is hanging upside down will cause him to simply fall.
    7. Move to the right, jumping from one magnetic platform to the next. Be careful to avoid the spikes.
    8. TIP: The timing for the magnetic platforms is challenging, but you can skip these sections all together. Use R. Jet to fly around the magnetic platforms. Just be careful of the spikes.
    9. When you reach solid ground, defeat another balloon robot and head to the right. Grab the weapon ammo to refill your R. Jet. Drop down the pit once you've collected it.
    10. The next screen has a floor made of ice. Drop down passed the pit and kill the shield enemy by shooting him when his back his turned.
    11. TIP: Icy floors have very little traction. To keep from slipping, jump repeatedly instead of running. You won't slide when landing from a jump.
    12. In the next room you'll face two more shield robots. Wait until the top-most robot moves all the way to the right before jumping down and shooting both. Carefully jump across the ice.
    13. Grab the large energy pellet and head to the right.
    14. Shoot the gunner robot when he lowers his shield to attack you. Climb the ladders to the next screen.
    15. TIP: Defeat the gunner robots easily by equipping the L. Trident. It will pass right through his shield and kill him in 3 shots.
    16. Defeat the metool and the gunner robot. Use R. Coil to grab the large screw before climbing up to the next screen.
    17. The rain in the next area will push Mega Man back when he jumps. It won't affect you when you're touching the ground though.
    18. Be extremely careful jumping across the platforms. It's best to simply avoid the parasol robots.
    19. TIP: You can land on the little black clouds between the platforms.
    20. When you reach the magnetic platforms, use R. Jet to fly across the spikes. Jump down the pit when you reach the right wall.
    21. More rain in the next area. This time it will push Mega Man forward. Be careful not to overcompensate your jumps.
    22. Jump down to the ground below. Walk to the right and use R. Coil to reach a 1-up.
    23. Carefully jump from platform to platform.
    24. Jump to a lower platform to collect another big bolt. Use R. Coil to jump up to a higher platform and avoid a tough jump.
    25. Continue heading to the right and enter the boss door.

  • Boss: Tornado Man

    1. TIP: Equip the P. Ball weapon to do extra damage to Tornado Man.
    2. Shoot him with the P. ball whenever he is on the ground. Since P. ball climbs walls and ceilings, sometimes it is possible to hit him even when he's airborne.
    3. Dodge the tornadoes he summons. He summons four each time he lifts his hand. Jump in between two tornadoes to dodge them all safely
    4. TIP: When there is a tornado onscreen, you jump extra high. Be careful not to jump into the spikes on the ceiling.
    5. He will randomly float in the air at times. Remember that his attacks are the same. If he's by the ceiling or a wall, hit him with the p. ball.
    6. Run away from him when he charges you from the air. He will do this randomly after floating. He always lands in the spot where you were standing when he started the charge. Shoot him with the P. Ball when he lands.
    7. The Plug Ball weapon kills him very quickly. Fire it while avoiding his tornadoes and he won't last very long.

  • Magma Man

    1. Jump over the lava pits to the right.
    2. Dodge the flamethrower robots by jumping over them as they approach. Destroy them by shooting them in the back.
    3. A magma robot is in the lava to the right. Wait for it to stop shooting fire before jumping over the lava.
    4. Use C-shot to create a block underneath the ladder. Quickly jump to it and climb to the next screen.
    5. Destroy both of the totem pole robots by shooting their faces. Climb the ladder on the left side.
    6. Dodge two more flamethrower robots. The next section has large lava streams that will kill you instantly, so be careful.
    7. Run underneath the lava streams when they stop.
    8. TIP: Use C. Shot to freeze the lava streams in place. Then use the L. Trident to destroy them.
    9. After the lava streams two more flamethrower robots attack from the right. Run underneath the first and jump over the second. Fall down the pit.
    10. Destroy the totem pole robot and collect the bolt it was guarding. Then jump down the pit to fight the mini-boss.

  • Mini-Boss: Dragon

    1. Shoot the dragon in the head to damage it.
    2. Use the B. Bomb to stop all of his attacks. It will deal damage if you hit his head with the black hole itself.
    3. The dragon dies after four shots with the B. Bomb.

  • Magma Man Part 2

    1. Run to the right. Shoot the magma robot that follows you from the left.
    2. Shoot another magma robot and take the upper path.
    3. Destroy the totem pole robots and jump over the pit.
    4. Defeat another totem pole robot and collect the 1-up.
    5. Jump down to the floor and defeat the totem pole robot. Shoot the magma robot that comes from the right and jump over the pit.
    6. Run underneath the lava stream and climb the ladder to the left.
    7. More lava streams. Be patient and run underneath them when they stop. Use the C-Shot to freeze them when needed.
    8. There is an optional energy pellet in an indent. This is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get. If you want it, jump down into the indent when the lava stream stops. Wait for the lava to stop again before jumping out.
    9. Use R. Jet to fly over several lava pits. Enter the boss door to fight Magma Man.

  • Boss: Magma Man

    1. TIP: Equip T. Blow to do extra damage to the boss.
    2. Magma Man jumps around the screen randomly. Keep towards the center to avoid his shots.
    3. T. Blow does more than just damage Magma Man. It will also blow away his shots and lower his attack power.
    4. Your T. Blow will run out before Magma Man dies. Equip the L. Trident to finish him off.

  • Hornet Man

    1. Head to the right and defeat two minekart robots.
    2. Shoot both of the flower pot robots and climb the ladder. Use your M. Buster to destroy the flowers they shoot.
    3. The rollout platform will extend when you shoot it. Once extended, run across it quickly before it rolls back up. Climb the ladder to the next area.
    4. Use R. Coil to collect the bolt on the left platform.
    5. Jump low to avoid the spikes on the ceiling. Shoot the scissor robots that come from the right. They won't form if you destroy any part of them. Navigate over the pits and enter the next screen.
    6. The shooter robot on the right side is completely invulnerable, but the projectiles it fires can destroy the floor. Hit it with your weapon to make it fire. It shoots wherever you're standing.
    7. Stand over the big bolt and hit the shooter robot. Fall down and grab it when the floor gets destroyed. Then jump down the pit.
    8. More shooter robots. Have them destroy the floor and fall to the next screen.
    9. Hit the shooter robot with P. Ball so that it breaks the floor over the 1-up. Collect it and fall down the pit.
    10. Avoid the spikes and use the shooter robot to fall into the pit.

  • Mini-Boss: Flower Robot

    1. Use M. Bazooka to do extra damage to the boss.
    2. Dodge the rotating spikes by jumping across the platforms in a clockwise pattern.
    3. The plant robot will appear randomly out of any of the platforms onscreen.
    4. Charge the M. Bazooka and shoot the plant robot when he appears out of a platform.
    5. If M. Bazooka starts to run low, switch to L. Trident. You'll need some M. Bazooka ammunition to fight Hornet Man.
    6. After a few shots the plant robot will die and a path will open on the bottom left. Jump down to reach the next area.

  • Hornet Man Part 2

    1. Run to the right until you reach the rollout platforms.
    2. TIP: Be careful about using special weapons in this area. Don't accidentally activate a rollout platform before you need it.
    3. Shoot the rollout platforms and run across them quickly.
    4. Don't stop to fight the scissor robots that come from the right. Shoot them as you go, but keep running or the rollout platforms will retract.
    5. Jump down onto the two regular platforms and collect the bolts. Use R. Coil to safely jump back to the rollout platforms.
    6. Move across two more rollout platforms and then jump down the pit to the right.
    7. Shoot the minekart robot. Climb the ladder and destroy the flowerpot before jumping down the pit.
    8. Keep away from the flowerpot robots as you shoot them. They can't attack you from far away. Once they are destroyed head to the right.
    9. Jump onto the indent and shoot another flowerpot robot. Collect the energy pellet and the weapon ammunition. Use the weapon ammunition to refill your M. Bazooka.
    10. Run to the right. Climb up the ladder and jump over the pit.
    11. Shoot several more flowerpot robots and continue right.
    12. Destroy the pogo-stick robot by using L. Trident.
    13. Climb the ladder to get the 1-up. Enter the boss door to fight Hornet Man.

  • Boss Fight: Hornet Man

    1. TIP:Equip the M. Bazooka to do extra damage. Remember that you can charge it by holding down the attack button.
    2. Hornet Man will shoot three bees at you. These bees follow Mega Man until they hit him.
    3. Use M. Bazooka to destroy the bees. An uncharged shot will kill them.
    4. Hornet Man runs back and forth as long as the bees are alive. Once all three are gone, he will jump and fire three more.
    5. Destroy the bees and jump over Hornet Man when he approaches.
    6. Fire the M. Bazooka at Hornet Man when there are either one or no bees onscreen. It will kill him quickly.

  • Auto Shop

    1. This is the last chance to buy items from Auto's shop.
    2. Make sure you buy the guard item. It reduces your damage by half for one level. This makes the last boss much easier.
    3. Buy lots of E-tanks and the M-tank.
    4. Don't bother with extra lives. You have infinite continues.
    5. Now that you've spent your screws, it's time to enter the last stretch of the game.

  • Wily Fortress Stage 1

    1. Use the J. Satellite to become invulnerable to the pit robots and birds.
    2. Destroy the dozer robot by equipping the L. Trident. It will pass through his shield.
    3. Equip T. Blow to raise the wind platform. Climb to the next area.
    4. More wind platforms. Use T. Blow to raise them. Jump or use the H. Chase to get the power-ups on the right. Climb the ladder to the next area.
    5. Grab the weapon ammunition to refill your T. Blow. Continue to the right, using T. blow to raise the platforms.
    6. Get the 1-up on the regular platform. Walk off the platform without jumping to get to the next wind platform. Jump to the ladder to get to the next screen.
    7. Use R. Coil to jump onto the upper-left platform. Equip the L. Trident and kill the dozer robot to the right. Jump over the gap and go to the next screen.
    8. Climb the ladders and shoot the plant robots.

  • Mini-Boss: Dragon

    1. The fight is the same as it was in Magma Man's stage.
    2. Shoot the dragon in the head as he passes by.
    3. Use the black hole bomb to stop all of his attacks. It will only damage him if the head hits the black hole.
    4. Four B. Bombs will kill him.

  • Wily Fortress Stage 1 Part 2

    1. Use H. Chase to grab the 1-up at the top of the screen.
    2. Shoot the cylinder robots and head to the next screen.
    3. TIP: The cylinder robots will spawn forever. Kill them as they come out and sometimes they will drop power-ups. This is a good way to refill your life and weapons.
    4. Avoid the lava stream in the next room. Use R. Coil to jump to the ladder when the lava stops.
    5. The next room has 3 lava streams.
    6. If you want an optional E-tank, quickly use R. Coil to jump to the leftmost ladder.
    7. In the next room avoid the lava stream and then use R. Jet to reach the other ladder.
    8. Climb to the next screen and use L. Trident to break the blocks. Grab the E-tank and return to the room with the 3 lava streams.
    9. In the 3 -lava-stream room, use the C. Shot to freeze the lava and climb onto the rightmost ladder.
    10. Continue climbing through the next screen, avoiding another lava stream.
    11. The next room doesn't have any enemies or obstacles, so climb to the next screen.
    12. Use R. Coil to jump into the teleporter. Use that teleporter to reach the ladder in the upper-left side of the screen.
    13. On the next screen use R. Jet to fly across the spikes.
    14. Destroy both of the plant robots and climb to the next screen.
    15. Equip the L. Trident to kill the dozer robot. Walk through the door to start a boss fight.

  • Boss Fight: The Four Faces

    1. This fight is four smaller bosses that share a life bar.
    2. Damage the bosses by shooting the spiked balls into the faces. You're regular Mega buster works best.
    3. The bosses do not attack you directly. Instead they attack the spike balls your pushing into them. It is a game of tug-of-war.
    4. Once you damage one of the faces, another one will respawn in its place (although the boss' life bar goes down).
    5. Sometimes when a face respawns, it will be colored red. Destroy the red faces first. They have more attack power.
    6. If one of the faces knocks their spike ball all the way to the wall, they will start attacking you instead. Push the spike ball back into their face to stop their attack.
    7. Continue destroying the faces until the boss' life bar depletes. When it's life runs out, the faces will stop spawning and the fight will end.

  • Wily Fortress Stage 2

    1. Get the weapon ammunition. Then climb up the left ladder.
    2. Climb the ladders and use R. Coil to reach the 1-up. Jump over to the right and kill the metool. Then use the ladder to reach the next screen.
    3. On the next screen you will see many platforms with electric robots circling them. Use R. Coil on the first platform to skip these obstacles. Jump to the upper right platform and go to the next screen.
    4. Kill the first green floating eyeball. Then use R. Jet to bypass both of the spiked floors. Climb the ladder to the next screen.
    5. The next screen introduces green robots that look like projector-reels. When you enter the screen they shoot blocks down on the screen. THESE BLOCKS ARE FAKE. You will fall through them.
    6. Use R. Coil to jump through the left-most block that the projector robot puts down. Climb the ladder and run to the right. Jump to the ladder and climb to the next screen.
    7. On the next screen use the L. Trident to destroy the gunner robot. Be careful not to jump into the spikes, the blocks underneath them are fake. Head right and enter the next screen.
    8. Use R. Jet to fly over the spikes and fake blocks.
    9. Jump over the spikes and into the pit.

  • Mini-Boss: Flower Robot

    1. This mini-boss is the same as your fight with him on Hornet Man's stage.
    2. Use M. Bazooka to do extra damage to the boss.
    3. Dodge the rotating spikes by jumping across the platforms in a clockwise pattern.
    4. The plant robot will appear randomly out of any of the platforms onscreen.
    5. Charge the M. Bazooka and shoot the plant robot when he appears out of a platform.
    6. After a few shots the plant robot will die and a path will open on the bottom left. Jump down to reach the next area.

  • Wily Fortress Stage 2 Part 2

    1. Grab the large energy pellet and the weapon ammunition. Jump into the water.
    2. The next few screens are underwater. Take advantage of your increased jumping ability.
    3. Shoot the octopus robots and jump over the spikes.
    4. There is now a fork in the road. The top path leads to the next screen and the bottom path leads to an optional E-tank. The E-tank is VERY DIFFICULT to get. Consider skipping it if you already have several E-tanks.
