• Mega Man 2 is a platformer game for the NES developed and published by Capcom. It is the first sequel in the long-running Mega Man series of video games. The game has been re-released on several consoles over the past few years. Most recently, the game has been ported for mobile phones and available for purchase on Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console.   • Story

    One year after the original Mega Man game, it is revealed that Dr. Wiley has built a new fortress and army. Looking for revenge against Mega Man, the player must defeat another 8 robotic henchmen before facing Dr. Wiley himself in the fortress. After defeating this final boss it is revealed he is actually just a hologram. The real Dr. Wiley then escapes (after some serious begging) to plan his next diabolical plan.
  • Reception

    In October 2003, GameSpot ranked Mega Man 2 as one of its greatest games of all time, joining the likes of Super Mario Kart, Grand Theft Auto IV and Smash TV. GameSpot noted that the game was one of the first to use a password system so players didn't have to play the game entirely in one sitting. Critics also praised its consistent level of challenges.
