Meet Joe Black is a film about Death, who takes a vacation from his grim job and inhabits the body of a young man, played by Brad Pitt. Through the course of the film, Death learns what it is like to be human and discovers the joys of peanut butter and romance. The film is based on an earlier film, Death Takes a Holiday, which was released in 1932. The updated version, starring Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Claire Forlani, was directed by Martin Best. The length and slow of the film generated mixed reviews of the film from critics.
