Meebo and Chatting
Meebo popularized the notion of connecting chatters on disparate instant messengers through a website. There are different options available to users. Pidgin, formerly known as GAIM, is an open-source desktop instant messenger client that allows people to talk across IM platforms. Other web-driven chat applications range from group chat (similar to Meebo Rooms) to 1-on-1 chat; they include Omegle, GettingRandom - Stranger Chat, and Yahoo Chat.
