Meditation is the practice of concentrating to help you achieve a calm peaceful state and a clear awareness of life. Once recognized as only a part of Eastern religions, meditation is now extremely popular in western culture.Meditation has positive effects on health.

Uses
Many people use meditation for stress relief and relaxation. Some researchers proved that meditation can help with allergies, anxiety, arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic pain, depression, high blood pressure and heart disease. Although not a replacement for medical treatment, meditation may be beneficial in addition to your doctor's treatment. -
Easy Awareness Test
Can you fully control your mind? Usually there are aspects that we do not see..1.Relax.
2.Close your eyes.
3.Stop interior dialog.
4.Remain in this state of none interior dialog.
Tip: Don't identify yourself with emotions, thoughts etc.. only observe them.
If you can remain in this state also for 5 minutes.. 10.. or any amount of time do you want: you know how to manage your mind... means that you're probably able to have a complete good health and complete happy life... you could be able to perceive more than common people... things that human normal perception can't feel but exists(like electromagnetic waves)
If the state of no interior dialog is difficult to maintain for you due to often return of thoughts, you probably understand the principal problem in manifesting what do you want and be really free...
"If the interior dialog returns and installs again without wanting it... the mind is controlling you"
What to do in this case? Exercise! Practice! Exercise! Try often(also during the day when you remember) to stop interior dialog or to start it voluntary and counsciously.

Quotes
Don't be daunted by meditation. Anyone can practice meditation. It's simple and inexpensive and doesn't require any special equipment. You can spend a few minutes in meditation almost anywhere — whether you're on the job, out for a walk, riding the bus, doing the laundry or waiting at the doctor's office. — MayoClinicIn meditation, a person learns to focus his attention and suspend the stream of thoughts that normally occupy the mind. This practice is believed to result in a state of greater physical relaxation, mental calmness, and psychological balance. Practicing meditation can change how a person relates to the flow of emotions and thoughts in the mind. — NCCAM
