The chicken dance is commonly seen at weddings, but has become popular at all kinds of social events. Fans of the dance can spend the day doing it as many times as they would like to, without a reason, and being as silly as they feel. Although the exact origins of the chicken dance are unknown, the song that accompanies the dance was originally written in the 1950's by Swiss accordion player, Werner Thomas of Davos.
