Maxime Talbot is a Canadian professional hockey player in the National Hockey League. He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Talbot signed a contract extension with the Penguins on December 19, 2008. The deal is reportedly worth $2 million over the next two seasons.
Career Highlights
Tablot began his career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in 2000. The following year he was traded to the Hull Olympiques, where he was named team captain in 2002. In his final season in the QMJHL, he helped the Olympiques reach the Memorial Cup Championships, where he was also named the playoff MVP.
Talbot was then drafted 234th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2002 NHL drafy. He played his first two seasons with the Penguins' American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Talbot made his NHL debut in 2005, playing 48 games with the Penguins that season. Shortly after the beginning of the 2006-07 regular season, Talbot was called up to join the Penguins as a full roster member.
