Maxim Magazine is an entertainment publication aimed at the young male demographic. The magazine focuses on photographs of models, popular actresses and musical performers, but does not publish nude pictorials.
The June 2009 issue of the magazine will include its list of the top 100 sexist women in Hollywood. Actress Olivia Wilde was named at the top of the hot 100 list. Maxim is one of the most successful and prominent brands of men's magazine in the world. They publish in over 25 countries and broadcast a channel on Sirius Satellite Radio. Maxim is owned by Quadrangle Group, which also publishes Blender and Stuff magazines.Maxim Online

In the March 2008 issue, Maxim published a review of the album Warpaint by The Black Crowes. As advance copies of the album were not made available, the band criticized Maxim for publishing a review without hearing the album. Maxim claims that the review was an "educated guess." Maxim wrote that the album "hasn’t left Chris Robinson and the gang much room for growth." The magazine's editor has since apologized, and suggested that the blurb should have been called a "preview" and not a "review."-
