  • Maxwell M. Scherzer is a professional baseball pitcher. He was the 11th overall pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2006 MLB Draft. He was originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 43rd Round (1291st overall) of the 2003 MLB Draft.
  • College Career Highlights

    Scherzer attended University of Missouri after not signing for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year in 2005, Collegiate Baseball All-America and Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week. He also pitched for the USA Baseball National team during the summer of 2005. He led the Missouri to Super Regional in 2006 after being named to the Baseball America Pre-season All-America First Team.
  • Pro Career

    Max Scherzer was drafted again in the 2006 MLB Draft as a first round (11th overall) pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He made his professional debut with the Single-A Visalia Oaks then promoted to Double-A Mobile Baybears.
