Max Roach

Max Roach was a Jazz percussionist, drummer and composer most often identified with bebop/hard bop. Roach has worked with a number of great jazz musicians, including Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and Clifford Brown.

Career

Roach was Charlie Parker's drummer in the infamous November 26, 1945 Savoy Records recording, which is widely acknowledged to be one of jazz's most important and groundbreaking works.
