This page is a full text walkthrough for the 2001 action game Max Payne. It provides all of the tips and tricks needed to survive each punishing chapter in the game. Max Payne Walkthrough Introduction
This walkthrough should help anyone finish the 2001 third person shooter Max Payne. It was written based on The Fugitive Difficulty level in the PC version, but will discuss all weapons and levels with tips and tricks on how to survive all versions of the game. You cannot play on a higher difficulty level until you beat the prior level.Weapons
- Lead Pipe: Used to smash crates for painkillers and ammo, but it is just as easy to shoot them.
- Baseball Bat: Picked up from Niagara, it will be used just once in a combat situation. The remainder of the time it can be used to smash crates.
- Beretta: Basic, all-around service pistol. Be sure to keep sufficient ammo on hand. You will most likely make more use of the dual Berettas.
- Dual Berettas: A great option for early gameplay, the dual Berettas have a terrific firing rate and make headshots relatively easy. Use for all situations with more than three enemies. It's easy to go through all of the rounds quickly, so keep an eye on your ammo level.
- Desert Eagle: Decent pistol for gameplay in the early chapters. A bit better for penetration, but stick with the Beretta when you can. It is easy to obtain ammo off of enemies for this weapon and the most popular weapon in the beginning chapters of the game.
- Pump-Action Shotgun: A standard shotgun with seven shell capability. Remember to reload after each use. Very slow rate of fire. Shares ammo with the sawed-off shotgun.
- Sawed-Off Shotgun: More powerful than the double-barreled shotgun and faster than the pump-action shotgun, this weapon is sawed off for better spread and is devastating at close range. Perfect bullet time weapon for encounters with one or two enemies but with only two shells is not the preferred weapon for an intense firefight.
- Jackhammer: This is provided towards the very end of the game and is a great automatic shotgun, particularly deadly in bullet time. Very high rate of fire, meaning that you will be out of ammo quicker.
- Ingram: The Ingram Mac-10 is incredibly powerful, but very inaccurate. As many rounds as are sprayed, accuracy will not matter. Ammo will be depleted quickly. You will likely find the Dual Ingram for big firefights.
- Dual Ingrams: This weapon is a waste of ammunition unless it is really needed. Primarily save these for boss fights and other big firefights. None of the game bosses can withstand a full clip from an Ingram. Each shot will also make them recoil. This means you can charge the boss and kill them without being killed in return.
- Colt Commando: With a thirty round clip, this is simply amazing and the best weapon in the game. You will receive it about one third of the way through the game at the end of An Offer You Can't Refuse. A few shots to the torso will kill any character. Headshots are very easy with it, too. Be sure to conserve ammo until the second half of the game. After that, you'll be able to find the ammo everywhere.
- Molotov Cocktail: These big bottles give off a huge fireball when they hit, however they are difficult to find. It is difficult to aim them accurately and the area of effect is not impressive, making them effectively worthless. They are hard to use without setting yourself on fire in the process.
- Grenade: Grenades are thrown in the PC version by depressing the left mouse button. They have limited usefulness as the time it takes to throw the grenade is usually enough time to be shot by the intended target.
- M79: The M79 is a limited grenade launcher with the capability of firing ten grenades. Rate of fire is quite good, but it is really an unnecessary weapon.
- Sniper Rifle: This standard sniper rifle holds up to twenty bullets and is very deadly in bullet time. You can fire four rounds without reloading. Accurate shots will usually switch to a bullet view.
Health
- Max Payne isn't a super solider, so do what you can to avoid being shot as his health fails quickly, e.g., a full shotgun blast decreases half of his health.
- Use cover and bullet time to avoid being shot.
- The health bar is in the form of a model of Max.
- The figure fills with red when he is hurt.
- If it reaches above his neck, Max will begin limping.
- His health will slowly recover back to shoulder level if he rests for a moment.
- The only other way to heal is to take some painkillers.
- Tip: Only eight bottles of painkillers can be held at a time, so keep an eye out for medicine cabinets to stock up.
Slowing Time
- The big draw of Max Payne is the copious bullet time.
- Slowing time is allowed through the hourglass of energy next to the health figure.
- It refills very slowly with time.
- Shooting enemies fills it faster.
- Headshots usually mean more energy.
- Two methods of slowing time are Shootdodge and Bullet Time.
- Shootdodge
- The Shootdodge technique is mapped to the Shift key by default in the PC version.
- Max will roll or leap in a direction and be in bullet time until he hits the ground.
- His actual movements are not accelerated. Only his reflexes.
- This means you can aim and shoot faster and with more accuracy. Reloading is not usually an option.
- Shootdodge is, not surprisingly, a great way to dodge gunfire and grenades and is used in many battles.
- Tip: The best method is to shootdodge around corners to outdraw guards waiting to ambush you.
- Bullet Time
- Bullet Time refers to slowing time without jumping.
- Note: Bullet Time is not mapped by default. Go into the controls and map it to the right mouse button in the PC version.
- There are only a few times when it really helps.
- Strafe enemies and not jump past them.
- A good way to pick off long range targets without being hit much.
- Sniping in bullet time is particularly deadly.
General Tips
- Don't forget about shootdodge and bullet time. It is the best way to stay alive and out-shoot your enemies.
- Don't forget to take painkillers. There isn't much use to hold onto them. Try to keep your health above 80%.
- Press F5 to quicksave often.
- Save a bit of ammo in your best guns for the big bosses.
- Check shelves and racks for possible ammo locations.
The American Dream
- Walk forward.
- Look at the graffiti on the wall and press E to make note of it and get a panel.
- Walk into the next room and answer the phone.
- Walk up the stairs.
- Go into the bathroom and push on the door. It won't open all the way.

- Run out to the hall.
- A burglar will open the door to the baby's room.
- Use shootdodge to kill him.
- His partner will be in the room too.
- Shoot him.
- Once you regain control, open the door to the bedroom and shoot the last burglar.
- Walk towards Michelle's body to end the level.
Rosco Street Station
- There isn't really anywhere to go.
- Take notice of the shotgun shells on the ground.
- Head into the security room.
- Follow the blood trail into the back room.
- The dead transit cop is a sign of things to come.

- Up the green cabinet besides him for some ammo for your Beretta.
- Open the other cabinet for a bottle of painkillers.
- Walk out.
- There are now too thugs waiting at the station.
- Use shootdodge to kill both of them.
- Tip: Grab their Desert Eagles for a good weapon.
- The gate is now open.
- Head up the stairs.
- Shootdodge around the corner to get the drop on two thugs.
- Once they're dead move down the hallway.
- One more thug is waiting to ambush you behind the gate at the end of the hall.
- It's on the left.
- Shootdodge around the corner to kill him without being shot.
- Move down the stairs.
- Turn left.
- Note the thug whistling.
- Shootdodge around the corner and kill him. He has a shotgun, so be really careful.
- Pick up the shotgun.
- You can't get into the security room without the code.
- Turn left and go down the maintenance stairs.
- There are three thugs at the bottom.
- Two are on the right and one's on the left.
- The thug to the left has a shotgun though.
- Shootdodge around the corner and blast the shotgun thug.
- Try to at least wound the other two before you hit the ground.
- Use bullet time again to finish them off.
- Tip: Use the shot for one-hit kills at this range.
- Move into the room they were guarding.
- Search the cabinet and the two lockers for painkillers and ammo.
- Move down the hall to the left.
- There is a big grate at the end.
- Two thugs are on the other side.
- Enter bullet time and shoot them from behind the cover of the grate.
- This clears the path for later.
- Head out and enter the personnel room to the left.
- Enter bullet time immediately and shoot the thug. He's got a shotgun. It can almost kill you at close range.
- Search the lockers and walk out with your new friend.
- There won't be any enemies on the route.
- Just walk up the stairs.
- It seems that the control room wasn't secure. Well, at least it's not an escort mission.
- Save now.
- The next area is tough and depends a bit on luck.
- Activate the panel and run into the control room's front area.
- There aren't any guards here.
- Wait a second and get ready.
- Take out your Berreta or your shotgun.
- Approach the door at the end.
- It will open and reveal a room with about 4 bad guys in it.
- There will probably be one guard right in front of you.
- Shootdodge immediately and kill him.
- Use it again to get behind the panel.
- There are three thugs left.
- One has a shot, one dual wields, and one just has a Desert Eagle.
- The two guys with pistols usually stay back, while the guy holding the shotgun charges.
- Shootdodge out to the left of the panel and kill the guy with the shotgun.
- Switch to your Desert Eagle.
- Shootdodge out to the right then and pop both of them in the head.
- You're done shooting for now.

- Go through the door to the right.
- Press the button on the panel to activate the power to line 2.
- Grab the four bottles of painkillers out of the medicine cabinet.
- Heal and move out.
- Go down the maintenance stairs again and enter the subway train.
- Use the wheel to crash through the gate.
- Step out.
- Three thugs are waiting.
- Just use the Desert Eagle with bullet time to kill them off.
- Jump onto the platform and approach the steel door.
Live from the Crime Scene
- Move forward down the hall.
- Prep your shotgun.
- There are two thugs in the hallway.
- One's using a shotgun, so be careful.
- Shootdodge out and try to land behind a crate.
- Shoot both of them.
- Move forward to the steel door.
- Open it and shootdodge right.
- One thug with dual Berettas is waiting. Blast him.
- There's another guy with a shotgun in the hall.

- Chase him and use shootdodge to finish him off.
- Drop down into the water canal at the bottom of the stairs.
- Switch to dual Berettas for the next part.
- You're probably running low on shootdodge time now.
- Using the dual weapons means you'll be able to probably save your bullet time for later.
- There are three men in the next area.
- The one in the brown jacket has a shotgun.
- Kill him quickly.
- The other two aren't too dangerous.
- Just move along the canal and pick the two men off.
- Move up the stairs. Nothing is at the end of the tunnel anyway.
- There will be four thugs up ahead.
- The one in the brown jacket has a sawed-off shotgun. Take him out quickly.
- Kill both of the men in front and watch the stairs to the left.
- The other two men are waiting in the stairwell.
- Shoot them.
- Make a note of the steel door wired with explosives to your right.
- Move down the stairs and through the vault to the left.
- Save again.
- There are four men inside the vault at the end of the hall.
- I suggest you use pistols or the sawed-off here.
- Use the vault door for cover.
- Take out the two men to the right.
- Wait and ambush the two on the left when they come around to the door.
- Save again.
- There are four men in the room ahead.
- Switch to the sawed-off shotgun.
- Use the panel to open the door.
- Shootdodge across the open door and blast the man standing in front of it.
- Shootdodge back across to kill the next thug who should run up to the door.
- Wait by the panel.
- The other two should run into the vault.
- Ambush them.
- Head into the room and grab the three bottles of painkillers off the table.
- Heal up and answer the phone to meet Captain Bravura.
- Use the center panel to open the door to Vault C.
- Press E to look at the corporation bonds.
- Head back and use the center panel to open Vault A.
- Grab the detonator off the table.
- Use the center panel again to open Vault B again.
- Backtrack.
- As you approach the second set of stairs, be ready.
- Three men are waiting to ambush you.
- They use grenades.
- The best tactic is to wipe out your dual Berettas and charge.
- They won't use grenades at close range.
- Use E on the door to prime the detonator.
- Take cover behind the crates to the right.
- Watch the cutscene and watch the betrayal.
- No time to weep now.
- There are three thugs running down the stairs.
- Take out the thug with the shotgun in the center first.
- The other two shouldn't be too tough.
- Go up the stairs.
- This is the last fight.
- There are four men here.
- One can throw a grenade, so be ready to shootdodge away from it.
- Start shooting and try not to take much damage.
- If you're lucky, then the grenade will kill them and leave you untouched.
- Head into the little office and grab some painkillers.
- If the exit gate to the left isn't open, flip the switch.
- The thug may have opened it already.
- Walk out into the snow to end the level
Playing it Bogart
- You're stuck in a rough spot.
- You need to kill both of the Finito brothers first.
- One will be attacking you with a shotgun. The other is crouched behind the desk with a pistol.
- Use shootdodge to jump from cover to cover.
- Blast the one in the purple suit with your shotgun.
- Three blasts with the sawed-off shotgun should kill him.
- Then just switch to dual Berettas and charge.
- The damage should keep him surprised.
- Unload the clip into him.
- Look at the note on the desk.

- Take cover behind the overturned desk.
- Three men will burst through the door.
- Pick them off from behind cover.
- Go through the opened door.
- Head down the stairs and go into the bathroom on the right.
- Get the painkillers from the medicine cabinet.
- Listen to the radio to get another panel and learn your fugitive status.
- All the doors out are locked.
- Shoot out one of the windows and jump onto the roof.
- Walk over to the door.
- There are three men inside.
- It's close quarters, so switch to your favorite shotgun.
- Move out the door and down the stairs to the right.
- The bedroom on the right is guarded by one thug sitting in a chair.
- Run in and shoot him before he pulls the shotgun out of the closet.
- Push the red button to make the bed slide over and realize sawed-off shotgun ammo.
- Move out of the room and down the hall.
- One guard is watching TV.
- Surprise him for a quick kill.
- Two more thugs will come running towards the sound from down the hall.
- Ambush them.
- Go into the bathroom on the right to kill a junkie and grab some painkillers.
- Move out the double doors.
- One guard is waiting to ambush you with a shotgun.
- Use bullet time as soon as you walk through to get the drop on him.
- Two more guards should come down the hallway.
- Ambush them.
- Shoot the lock off the door.
- Use bullet time to ambush the two guards using the soda machine.
- Turn around and kill the other guard in the hallway.
- Go into the room on the right to watch the latest report on your shooting spree.
- There are painkillers in the room with the dead junkie. They're in the cabinet.
- Out into the hallway again.
- Save.
- There's a big shootout coming up.
- Go into the room with junkie. Kill him if you want.
- Move into the next room.
- Four men will run into the little center area. Use bullet time and shootdodge to kill them quickly.
- Run down the hall to the left.
- Room 313 is here.
- Open the door, but dodge to either side as soon as it starts to open.
- The room is trapped.
- Grab the painkillers on the table and shotgun ammo if you need it.
- Walk back to the center area.
- Two more men charge into the center.
- Ambush them with the shotgun.
- Head through the newly opened door.
- Shoot the malfunctioning boiler to make it fall through the fall.
- Jump down through the hole.
- Shoot the three men scrambling through the hall.
- They should split up when the boiler falls.
- Go into the room on the right.
- Read the hooker's diary.
- Open the cabinet and enter the secret room.
- Open the door to bypass the locked door.
- One thug should take a shot and you. He'll then run away to a spot at the left.
- Shootdodge to the left and kill the three men waiting to ambush you.
- A sawed-off shotgun should make short work of them.
- Press the button to open the elevator door.
- Enter and press the button to descend.
The Blood Veins of New York
- Exit the elevator when the doors open.
- Walk to the left.
- Three men are playing poker. They'll probably charge you.
- Use bullet time and your Desert Eagle to pick them off.
- Watch the television for news on the storm.
- Go out the door at the back.
- Two men will run through the door opposite you.
- Enter bullet time and kill them quickly.
- The door will lock behind them.
- Shoot the boxes in front of the other door to clear a path.

- One shotgun wielding guard is waiting..
- Shootdodge into the hallway and kill him.
- Walk down and look at the newspaper by the dead man.
- A bit of foreshadowing.
- Move through the door at the back.
- There will be three thugs in the kitchen.
- Nothing too spectacular.
- Just use your dual Berettas to pick them off.
- Grab the painkillers from the medicine cabinet.
- Go up the stairs and into the bar.
- Go through the door on the left.
- Go in guns blazing.
- There are four men sitting at the table.
- Use the table for cover and shootdodge to pick them off.
- Grab the key from the little table to the right.
- Get the painkillers from the cabinet.
- Go into the bathroom down the hall and get some painkillers from the medicine cabinet.
- Head down the hall and go up into the bar.
- This is a little boss fight.
- Muerte is waiting with Candy and four thugs.
- He's using an Ingram (Mac 10). This really does a lot of damage.
- Toss a grenade or Molotov cocktail into the room (you should have one).
- Wait for Muerte to retreat.
- Use bullet time and shoot dodge to kill the four remaining guards and Candy.
- Get the painkillers from behind the bar.
- Note: It is possible to kill Muerte here, but you don't have to do it now.
- Chase after Muerte.
- He'll be waiting right by the back door.
- You can go in guns blazing or throw in a Molotov.
- Chase him to the cashier's box and kill him.
- Two guards are by the box. Make sure they don't kill you in your weakened state.
- Once it's over, walk into the backroom and examine the switchboard.
- It seems like things are heating up.
- Get some painkillers and head up the stairs into the club area.
- The exit button doesn't work.
- There will be two guards waiting in the casino area.
- Kill them and go through the door onto the roof.
- Shoot out the glass and drop down unto the crates.
- Two pairs of guards will run in with Ingrams.
- Enter bullet time and kill them quickly.
- Tip: You can kill one pair and steal their guns to get dual Ingrams.
- Once the four are dead, you're in the clear.
- Run back to the now open cashier's booth and hit the exit button.
- Go out the doors and into the street.
- If the outer doors are still closed, then hit the button again.
- Walk into the cold to complete the level.
Let the Gun Do the Talking
- Go down the street and turn the corner.
- Walk down the stairs in the alley.
- There are three guards past the door.
- Ambush them and go on through the next door.
- Break down the door to the left and kill a few junkies if you want.
- Walk back to the main hall.
- Head down to the end.
- There will be a big explosion behind you.
- Throw a Molotov cocktail into the rack of oxygen bottles.
- The one of the self will fly forward and blow off the door.

- One guard will rush into the room.
- Kill him.
- There are some bottles of painkillers in the medicine cabinet across the room.
- Kill the junkies at the end if you want some Beretta ammo.
- Run through the run down warehouse room.
- As you come to the end, shootdodge out the door and look to your left.
- One guard is waiting in ambush with a shotgun. Kill him.
- There another thug to the right, but he's isn't much of a threat.
- Go up the stairs at the end.
- There's one man with an Ingram waiting for you at the top.
- Shootdodge around and kill him.
- Move through the boiler room and answer the phone.
- Go ahead into the main hall.
- There are two guards trying to run away.
- Blast them with your shotgun before they get the chance to draw.
- Go to the room on the right.
- Shoot the lock off of the door.
- Enter the pawn shop and read the letter on the counter. It seems that Gognitti pushed the Russians a bit too far.
- Grab the painkillers and the key off of the shelf behind you.
- Run out before the S.W.A.T. team starts shooting. They will kill you.
- Go across the room and go through the door to the left.
- There's one guard waiting. A shotgun blast will take him out.
- Go up the steps.
- One guard will probably run away and start throwing grenades.
- Use shootdodge to get away from the blasts and kill him.
- At the top of the stairs, a guard is waiting with a shotgun. You now the drill now.
- Get some painkillers from the cabinet in the bathroom.
- There's a guard with dual Ingrams up on the next staircase.
- Shootdodge and the sawed-off shotgun will make quick work of him.
- Run across the balcony and use shootdodge to clear the gap in the floor.
- Get through the door.
- Those bombs will cut off your way back though.
- Wipe out the dual Ingrams and charge into the room. Switch to bullet time and start shooting.
- The four men will be startled as it is. A few rounds from dual Ingrams will wipe them out before they can do much damage.
- When you're done, jump through the window to end the level.
Fear That Gives Men Wings
- Run down the fire escape.
- Just ignore the junkies outside.
- Go through the first door you see on the right.
- The pizza boy routine isn't working on the armored door.
- You'll need somebody who knows them.
- Walk out the opposite door.
- Go into the alley and go into the building on the left.
- Note: This is one spot where junkies have a chance of freaking out from nearby gunfire. They may take out their Beretta and shoot you if you kill guards near them.
- There are three guards at the top of the first staircase.
- You should still have plenty of ammo.

- Just keep shooting until they're dead.
- Go up another staircase.
- Two thugs rush out to inspect the noise.
- Blast them.
- Move up and enter the room to trigger a cutscene. You now have a way into the room.
- Backtrack to the armored door.
- There shouldn't be any enemies along the way.
- They'll open the door and start shooting.
- There are two thugs in the main room and two in the side laundromat.
- Nothing too tough at this point.
- Dual Berettas should handle everything.
- Check the area behind the receptionist for some painkillers. Then enter the elevator.
- Note: If you shoot the speaker, Max will say "Thank You."
- Exit the elevator.
- There's one guard in the bathroom.
- Wait and ambush him when he comes out.
- Watch the TV for some more news.
- Jump through the window onto the roof.
- Walk across the pipes and jump through the window across the street.
- There will be about 3 guards in here.
- Just switch on bullet time and blow them away.
- Tip: Grab some Ingram ammo out of the green cabinet.
- Jump through the window across from the cabinet.
- Turn right and run across the pipes.
- Go through the door.
- Then run down the balcony.
- Hang back for a second when you see the two thugs.
- They'll be killed in the explosion in 3,2,1, now.
- Push on the door.
- The whole wall falls down, which is good enough.
- Go through the new opening.
- Your path up is a fallen piece of the upstairs floor.
- There are four guards around the opening.
- I suggest the dual Berettas or the Ingram.
- Go up the ramp and head into the main hall again.
- There is just one more guard up here.
- Kill him.
- Approach well lit room.
- Grab the painkillers off the stove and the Ingram ammo out of the cabinet.
- Approach the door.
- It's time to face Gognitti.
- Save.
- Gognitti makes a run for it.
- You need to kill his three guards.
- They actually aren't that special.
- Switch to dual Ingrams and shootdodge to the left.
- One long burst should kill all three of them.
- Read the letter on the desk once they're dead.
- Head out the back door and jump down to the roof.
- Run across the pipe and start chasing Gognitti.
- Go through the room and experience the deja vu.
- Turn right in the main room and then run up the stairs.
- Make another right and go through the door to watch Gognitti's leap of faith.
- Save.
- You have to match his leap.
- Wait for the next train and do a shootdodge onto it.
Police Brutality
- Move forward and drop down onto the pipes.
- Run to the roof across the street.
- There are two thugs on the roof.
- Use your Ingram to take them out quickly.
- Walk across the rooftops and jump to the roof. Look for the big billboard.
- Turn to your right immediately.
- There are two gunmen on the billboard across the street.
- They are very accurate. Go to shoot dodge and start firing.
- Move across the rooftops and follow the blood trails to the door. Ignore the police helicopter.
- Three thugs run up.

- The one with the shotgun charges all the way to the top.
- The other two take cover on the floor below.
- Use bullet time to take all three of them out.
- Move to the bottom and grab some painkillers from the medicine cabinet.
- Head down the hallway and out the door.
- There are two men lying in ambush across the basketball court.
- Start firing at them as soon as you can.
- One more will burst out from the side door.
- Be ready to kill him.
- Move through that door and watch another cutscene.
- Kill the one guard on the bottom level.
- Jump down and grab the painkillers out of the cop's coffin.
- Jump back up.
- Press the button on the lift to lower the elevator.
- Jump in and face toward the building.
- One guard is waiting on the second level.
- Try and kill him while you're on the lift.
- Once you're on top, turn toward the billboard and shoot the gunman across the street.
- Move through the door on top.
- There are four guards on top.
- One is usually on the other side of the billboard.
- You should have a favorite method for killing groups by now.
- Move along the billboard and kill the lone guard to your left.
- There are two bottles of painkillers on the ledge. Grab them.
- Move along another billboard and reach the edge.
- The door is barred shut. Shoot out the windows and shootdodge your way in. There are only two guards to kill.
- Go up the stairs and out the door onto another rooftop.
- Shootdodge your way onto the fire escape to the left.
- Do down and through the window.
- Watch TV to get the latest sound byte from Jim Bravura.
- Grab the pills in the bathroom's medicine cabinet.
- Save.
- The next area is hard. Wipe out the dual Ingrams.
- Shoot the thug on the other side of the door.
- The man up ahead is basically in a perfect place to accurately throw grenades at you.
- Just run straight down the hall and turn on bullet time. Then start firing. All four of them will be in a rough line. Hold down the trigger until they're dead.
- Run down the hall, across a rooftop, and through another hall.

- Wait for a second and shoot the thug that runs up.
- After that's, it's just a shooting gallery.
- Run down and use shootdodge to kill the two guys to the right.
- Then take cover and start cleaning out the left.
- Once they're all dead, Gognitti will attack.
- Shootdodge toward him and unload a full clip from the Ingram into him.
- He should fall down.
- It will end the level.
Ragna Rock
- There won't be any enemies for a minute.
- There's a security room to the left with some ammo. Get some shotgun ammo if you're running low.
- Walk into the cashier's booth on the right.
- Flip the security switch on the wall.
- This open a wall panel to the left.
- There will be one thug waiting for you.
- Blast him quickly.
- Go into bullet time and shootdodge into the room.
- There's one guard in the back.
- Loot the room thoroughly.

- There's a lot of ammo and some painkillers on the shelves.
- When you're ready, pull out your sawed-off shotgun and go through the door at the back.
- There's one thug on the other side of the door. Shoot him and immediately shootdodge. This will help you dodge the shotgun fire from the thug on the left.
- Blast the other one of the floor as quickly as you can.
- Switch to the Desert Eagle and shoot the thug on the opposite balcony.
- There is one more in the room.
- There's one thug on the balcony above you. He's throwing Molotov cocktails onto the pentagram on the dance floor. These are effectively one hit kills.
- Run to the other side and take cover behind a pillar.
- Enter bullet time and use the Desert Eagle to kill him.
- Save.
- You now have to clear the next area.
- Move through the doors at the back.
- There will be another bar section.
- Pull out the dual Berettas and shootdodge sideways into the hall.
- Two thugs are waiting with shotguns. Blow them away.
- There's one more man with an Ingram in the center.
- Just use a shotgun and take him out.
- Move through the door to the left.
- One more bar area.
- There's the thug behind the bar and another two gunmen in the room.
- Just rinse and repeat your shootdodge tactics.
- Grab the bottle of painkillers behind the bar for some much needed health.
- Examine the stacks of books on the table for a little foreshadowing.
- Head to the locked grate and flip the little switch beside it.
- One thug will roll out into the hallway in a vain attempt to impersonate you.
- Just use a shotgun to blow him away.
- Turn right and move up the stairs.
- One guard is waiting in ambush to the left. Blast him with the shotgun as soon as you come through.
- Take cover behind a pillar and switch to the Desert Eagle.
- Shoot the man on the other side.
- Run across the beam to the other balcony. There are three bottles of painkillers on a table there. Grab them and walk back to the first side.
- Just walk through the doors ahead of you.
- Shootdodge immediately and kill the man in the brown jacket. He has a shotgun. The other thug isn't too tough.
- Grab a bottle of painkillers by the pyro control.
- Save.
- Walk through the door to the right and go up the stairs to the left.
- There are three men ahead with shotguns.
- Go in with dual Ingrams or Berettas.
- Once they're dead, another three will run in from the back.
- Use the barrels for cover and kill them.
- Grab the painkillers off the shelf.
- Note: Breaking the two boxes on the table will give you some painkillers.
- Move through the doors in back.
- Get ready for a battle on the stairwell.
- One shot gunner is waiting on the ground floor.
- Take him out as soon as you enter.
- Tip: Stick to bullet time. Using shootdodge could mean a long fall through the trap door.
- Fight your way up the stairs and do your best to pick off the remain four thugs.
- There isn't much to say. Some of this battle will depend on your luck.
- Once you reach the top, just head outside.
- Walk through the open window onto the beam.
- Blast the thug on the ground floor before he starts shooting.
- Run to the center of the beams and turn to the left.
- Walk out the window.
- Run down the roof and move onto the spires. Turn right and navigate to the open door.
- Three thugs will run up the stairs. Use sawed-off shotguns to take the three men out on the stairwell.
- Save.
- Press the little button to open the door.
- Move to the left as it open though.
- There's a man with an Ingram on the catwalk.
- Let him run in and ambush him.
- Then just shootdodge out the door and kill the other man on the stairs by the catwalk.
- Watch out for three more men running in from below. A bit of bullet time should work fine.
- Run across the top catwalk and get four bottles of painkillers from the medicine cabinet.
- Head back and go down the stairs.
- One thug is probably waiting for you.
- Kill him and go across to the stage control.
- Grab some more painkillers and hit the button on the stage control panel
- This raises the back wall to give you more access.
- Two thugs run out with Ingrams and shotguns. Shoot them quickly and move through.
- Go up the stairs to the right.
- Change the backdoor controls to open a path. 1 should be down. 2,3, and 4 should be up.
- Walk down and go through the opening in the backdrops.
- Wait for the thug on the stairs to throw a grenade. Shootdodge the grenade and score a headshot.
- Run up the stairs and across the boards. The lone board will break if you stand on it for long.
- Get to the door at the end to complete the level.
An Evil Empire
- Look at the torn up letter on the couch.
- Look at the notes on the table.
- Seems like Lupino lost it.
- Note: Cthulhu reference for fans of Lovecraft.
- Look at the altar for the last panel.
- Walk up the series of stairs. Press the button to open the armored door.
- Walk through and a cutscene shows that you're locked in.
- Save now.
- This is going to be an arena battle.
- Run down the right side and get all the ammo and painkiller on the table.

- Pull out your favorite weapon and get ready.
- Men will drop down from two spots. They'll jump down to the raised section to the left and unto the stairs by the curtain.
- The just move around the center area and kill them as they drop down.
- The only special one is the main on the second floor to the right.
- He is pretty accurate and uses Molotov cocktails. Pull out the Desert Eagle and shoot him when you have the chance.
- After about 8 of them are dead, Lupino will raise the curtain and come out with two guards.
- The guards carry Ingrams and Lupino switches between Molotovs and a shotgun.
- Pick off the two guards and just hammer Lupino with the dual Ingrams.
A Cold Day in Hell
- Time for an annoying puzzle level.
- Work through the nightmare.
- There are multiple ways to work through the maze.
- The fastest way is to just keep turning left when possible.
- You'll end up in the living room.
- Look at both pictures and then walk upstairs.
- Take the door to the right.
- Walk out of the room and onto the blood trails.
- Be very careful to not fall off and save when you can.
- Follow the first path until you see the second path to your left. Jump to it.

- Follow it until you come to a turn with a path straight in front of you. Jump to it.
- Follow the path past one T-split. Turn right at the second T-split.
- Follow this path to the door.
- Go through the door to the left.
- Walk down the hall and enter the room ahead. Read the diary on the table for an important story note.
- Head out the door to advance to the next mission.
The Baseball Bat
- Your mission is to fight your way to the bar down the street and kill Niagara.
- Use the bat to knock the lock off the cabinet in back. Use the two bottles of painkillers.
- You are supposed to use a whole bunch of stealth up ahead. The goal is to sneak through by staying about half a hallway behind the two groups of guards. You will eventually sneak into a supply room with some weapons.
- That is very boring.
- If I wanted to play a stealth game, I'd pop in Splinter Cell.
- Charge the first guy in the black suit when he nears the corner.
- Two whacks with the bat will kill him.
- Enter bullet time now.
- You now have a Desert Eagle with five shots.
- Shoot the other two men in the head and quickly grab their guns. The man in purple has dual Ingrams.
- Switch to dual Ingrams and duck behind the corner.

- Gun down the 6 or 8 guards who should be running toward you now.
- Head to the right down the hall. Loot the supply room in the middle for ammo and painkillers.
- Check the room on the other side.
- Two guards are waiting. Just shoot them and check the newspaper by the sewer grate for a panel.
- When you're ready, go into the elevator.
- Save.
- Equip the sawed-off shotgun.
- There are two guards by the elevator. Shootdodge and blast them both.
- Save again.
- Move toward the truck outside.
- Dodge the tossed grenade.
- Shootdodge into the room on the right and try to land behind the boxes to the right.
- Blast the two guys to the right and the one to left.
- Grab four bottles of painkillers from the medicine cabinet to the left.
- Move through the door by cabinet and kill the last man. He uses dual Ingrams, but he's alone. Try to get a headshot with the Desert Eagle.
- Walk out the door and into the street.
- Walk toward the flaming police van and turn to enter the bar.
- Approach the crime tape for a cutscene.
- Approach the lounge door.
- Shootdodge forward as soon as the scene ends.
- Kill the guy on the phone first.
- Then take out his two friends.
- Move straight forward and listen to the radio.
- You can blast a mobster in the bathroom if you want. Just catch him in the stall.
- Go up the stairs to the bar.
- It's just like the fight with Muerte.
- Stick to the left wall for a minute.
- Blast the two thugs who charge the door.
- The best course is to shootdodge through the door with dual Ingrams.
- Start blasting Niagara.
- Keep shooting until he dies. The Ingram fire should keep him flinching, so get up close and personal.
- Shoot the guy behind the bar to wrap it up.
- Move toward the back door to complete the level.
An Offer You Can't Refuse
- Time to raid an arms ship.
- Shootdodge through the door into the security office.
- Blast the guard and press the button to open the gate.
- Two more guards are by the loading panel. The shotgun will be fine.
- Tip: Shoot the explosive barrel to quickly kill the one on the dock.
- Press the button to open the door to Warehouse 4.
- Two guards are on the floor and another is on top.
- They'll always throw a grenade. Be ready to jump.
- Use your shotgun on the two by the ground floor and then wipe out the Ingram to kill the one on top.
- Note: Jump onto the stairs from the crates in the middle. There are painkillers on the upper level.

- Run out the door on the bottom level.
- Press the button to open the door to Warehouse 5.
- There is one man with an Ingram on the upper level.
- Tip: Stay away from the barrel in the center! The gunfire or the grenade will cause a big explosion if you are near it.
- Pull out your own Ingram and kill him quickly.
- Use the lift to get to the catwalk. Run along it and flip the crane control switch to move the box from in front of the door.
- Two men will run in, so be ready.
- Grab the painkillers from the medicine cabinet before you go.
- Take the lift back down and walk out.
- There are about 5 guards spread through the general area.
- Fight through them using standard tactics, then climb onto the big crane.
- Flip the switch to lift the box.
- Two more men will run out. Just shoot them from the cover of the crane.
- There's one more man ahead along the path. Shoot dodge around the second corner to take him out quickly.
- Move into the new space, but stay in the middle of the path.
- The crane moves past you and picks up the box.
- Start running. Run down the lane and duck into the little room to the left.
- Wait for the crane to ram the boxes at the end. The operator is dead and the path is now clear.
- Two more thugs are running toward you. Just pull out the Ingram to take them out from a distance.
- Move around the corner.
- There's another crane here.
- It doesn't ram you. Duck out from behind the cover and take out the operator with the Ingram.
- The crane will then lift up the box.
- Two more guards ahead. You know what to do.
- Run ahead and run to the left.
- There's one guard with a grenade by the bridge to the right. Shootdodge the grenade and kill him.
- Start walking down the lane again.
- One more thug should walk out of a secret room in a crate.
- Blast him and enter the room. Look at the assassin assignment and pick up the sniper rifle.
- Keep moving to the end of the lane and turn right.
- Use the sniper rifle to pick off the two guards across the river.
- Jump across the barge and cross to the other side.
- Shoot the lock on the cage to get some painkillers and ammo.

- Then use this new ammo to shoot out the tire block on the truck up ahead. It's the little wedge by the back tires.
- The truck rams the bridge and opens the new path.
- Save. It's about to get rough.
- Two more guards will run toward the barge you just crossed.
- Use your favorite weapon to kill them.
- Move across the barge back to the first lane.
- There's another 4 or 5 guards up ahead. Use the Ingram or the Rifle to pick all of them off.
- Once they're dead just move up and cross the new bridge.
- There's a few more guards up ahead, so stay alert. Go through the door to the right and loot some more ammo for up ahead.
- Once you're ready, walk through the door straight ahead to end the chapter.
With Rats and Oily Water
- Seven thugs to kill overall.
- Shoot the one running toward you first. Then pick off the guard on top of the containers.
- Circle around all the way and grab some ammo off the shelves.
- Backtrack and run up the middle. Kill the thug shooting from behind the shelves. Be very careful though. There is another guy throwing grenades nearby.
- Look on top of the crates to find him.
- Follow the twisting path and use bullet time to kill the guy running up the stairs. Shoot the one to the left of the stairs when you can.
- There's one more up top. He's hiding behind some crates near the exit.
- Run counterclockwise around the catwalk to find the exit door. Kill the thug guarding it when you get the chance.
- There's a lifter moving toward you. Kill the guard on top. The Ingram should be fine for now.
- Jump onto the lifter when it stops.

- Grab the sniper rifle and get ready.
- The controls are pretty simple. Flip the switch in the direction you want to go.
- Flip the switch forward. Shoot the guard in the tower straight ahead. Then shoot the guard in the tower to the right.
- Once the lifter stops, shoot the guard in the tower to the back left.
- Hit the switch to go left.
- Note: If you really need painkillers and ammo, you can use the lifter to navigate to each tower. It's not really worth the time though.
- Snipe the guard in the tower ahead.
- Then move forward one. Move right and forward again to make it to the door.
- Jump into the sniper tower for ammo and painkillers.
- Crouch and shoot the two men on the ground rushing toward you.
- Go through the door.
- Pick your favorite weapon to kill the next four men in the warehouse.
- Shoot the gunman on the opposite catwalk and then blast the shotgun guard running up the stairs to your left.
- One more guard should be on the opposite catwalk now. Kill him.
- Search for the last one on the catwalk.
- Go across to the other catwalk. There's one more thug waiting in the caged guard area. Shoot him now to make things easier later.
- Walk to the office in the back left of the warehouse. One guard is waiting with a shotgun. Shootdodge through the door to ambush him.
- Press the button by the door. This opens up the cage door. Two more guards will come through and start running toward you. Just blast them. If you've survived this far, you should be fine.
- Walk out the caged door.
- Max wasn't kidding about killing half of his crew to get there. Save.
- Two men are waiting on the docks. Hide behind the crate and ambush them.
- Use your best bullet time moves to pick off the guard by the bridge. He's probably already shooting at you.
- Tip: I suggest Dual Berettas for the next part. They're versatile and useful for all the enemies you'll face up ahead. Switch between them and the shotgun.
- Go onto the ship. Blast the one guy behind the tarp.
- Duck behind the red crate and ambush the shotgun guard who runs to investigate.
- Shoot the other guard in the brown jacket. He may run towards you. In that case, just take cover and ambush him.
- Go left and quickly shoot the shotgun guard who rounds the corner.
- Go up the stairs and enter bullet time. Enter the ship's bridge and blast the last guard.
- Get four bottles of painkillers from the cabinet to heal.
- Answer the ship's radio when you're ready.
- Pull out the dual Ingrams or the pump-action shotgun.
- Open the door directly behind you and enter bullet time. Kill the guard before he throws the grenade.
- Shootdodge around the corner and blast the guard running up the stairs.
- Shootdodge around the next corner to kill the next guard.
- Shootdodge around the next corner to kill the last two guards. Save now. You're almost done.
- Open the door to your right. There are 3 guards and Boris in the engine room.
- Jump in and start firing with your favorite weapon. Pick off the guards and use the engine for cover.
- Boris should run to the back. If he does, shoot the oxygen tanks behind him to do a lot of damage. Then, just keep shooting him with the Ingrams until he dies.
- Save.
- Go into the back room and pick up enough guns and ammo to start your private war.
- When you have everything you can carry, walk back to the bridge.
Put Out My Fire with Gasoline
- Take a breath and get ready to run.
- Run forward and jump across the table to the right.
- Head straight ahead and run through the kitchen door.
- Go straight through the kitchen.
- Play it safe and run around the row of cabinets. Go through the slightly flaming door to the right.
- Go straight through the burning hallway and then straight through the burning room.
- Turn left through the hallway at the back. Go down another burning hallway.
- Skirt the edges of the fire and run straight to the benches in the little recess to the right. Jump over them to get past the fire.
- Turn left to go down another burning hallway.
- Go left into the offices. Just turn a bit to the right and go through the door.
- Stop for 3 seconds. Let the fuse do its damage to the room.
- Jump over the two flaming cabinets.
- Start to walk past the third.
- Duck back a bit as you feel it enter bullet time. An oxygen tank is heading straight for Max's head. Take cover behind the shelf.
- Move to the left and jump over the low shelves.
- You're past the fire for now. Save.
- Go into the next kitchen and kill the lone guard in the room. Pick up some painkillers and ammo on the sink before you head downstairs.
- Tip: Remember to use the Colt Commando. It's a great weapon and outclasses anything the thugs have.
- Shootdodge down the steps and get the drop on the two thugs at the bottom.
- Go past them and drop down into the sewer.
- Three guards will run toward you. Drop into bullet time for some quick headshots with the Commando.
- Follow the catwalk forward. Shoot the thug around the first corner. Then shoot the one around the second corner.
- Turn the third corner and shoot the last two thugs. Go up the stairs and out of the sewer.
Angel of Death
- Go through the door to the left to read Mona's "Note."
- Tip: Switch to the dual Berettas for now. You already know how to use the Commando. Save it's ammo for the Trio.
- Shoot the gas cans to kill the first thug as he walk through the door ahead.
- Shoot dodge into the hall to kill the next two.
- Turn left and shootdodge through the door to get a headshot on the guard with the shotgun.
- Grab the bottles of painkillers off the barrel.
- Walk back into the main path.
- One thug will run past and set up an ambush with two other men.
- Shootdodge through the opening and start shooting. Try to kill at least two of the men before you hit the ground.
- Pop the third guard and leave.
- Head up the stairs and into the kitchen. Grab three bottles of painkillers off the kitchen counter.

- Read the tarot cards for a little foreshadowing.
- Heal up, equip the Commando, and go through the door to the right. Shootdodge immediately.
- The first of the trio is hiding behind a table with two guards.
- Note: The trio aren't actually much tougher. They are just well trained and well armed. A headshot from the Commando still takes them down.
- The good news is that the barricade works both ways. Use it for cover and rake some fire over the edge for some good headshots.
- Take cover behind the table and kill the two men that run through the door.
- Go back through the kitchen and take the now open door on the left side.
- Tip: Switch back to normal guns to save the Commando for later.
- Shoot the one guard on the ground level. Then step out and shoot the one on the balcony.
- Go through the door at the back.
- There's just one guard hiding behind a plant to the left. Blast him quickly.
- Note: You can press E when facing the piano to have Max play the first part of the game's them. It only works if the piano isn't damaged.
- Walk past the piano and into the next room.
- Use the dual Ingrams to kill both guards in here.
- Grab three bottles of painkillers off of the bar.
- Just one more room with another guard.
- Then shootdodge out into the main hallway.
- There are just two men here.
- One is just an average shotgun thug on the floor. The other is using dual Ingrams and grenades from his spot on top of the stairs.
- Use your own Ingrams to take him out. Blast the other thug and save.
- There are two doors here. The partially broken one to the left is locked for now. The second man from the trio is to the right.
- Equip the Commando and charge into the room.
- It's just three men. Land a few headshots and walk out.
- Try to open the broken door to the left.
- Then run away.
- They have an M79 grenade launcher and will use it on the door in 5 seconds.
- Throw your own grenades into the room to kill the man with the launcher.
- Charging in is probably a suicide mission without 100% health.
- Once he's dead, the other two are a piece of cake.
- Shoot dodge into the bathroom to the right and kill the lone guard. Grab the painkillers from the medicine cabinet to heal up.
- Shootdodge through another door and kill the guy by Lisa's body.
- Examine the bed to get another panel.
- Answer the ringing phone across the room.
- It seems that you have company.
- Pull out your best weapon. Just three more thugs to kill.
- Go through the door and kill the guard across the balcony.
- Save and shootdodge through the door.
- Kill the last of the trio and his remaining guard.
- Tip: Draw your dual Ingrams now.
- Go through the door to find Punchinello.
- Watch the scene. This isn't good.
- Gun the three agents as quickly as possible. Just backtrack through the rooms to surrender.
A Bit Closer to Heaven
- It's time for another trippy dream.
- Run through the house and reach the bedroom for a cutscene.
- Read the letter, answer the phone, and try to walk out the door.
- Read the letter, answer the phone, and successfully walk out the door.
- Go back through the house and find a blood maze.
- Save now in case you fall off.
- Run along the trail and jump down and to the right to the only other visible trail.
- Follow it and jump across the break.
- Follow it as it turns to the right.
- When it stops, just walk off to the right and land on the blood trail below.

- Follow it to the right and jump across the breaks.
- You should see the crib ahead soon.
- The only other path is one to the left. Ignore it.
- Keep going straight until you curve to the right and see the crib on a platform.
- Jump to it.
- All that's left is to kill your past self and break the trip.
Take Me to Cold Steel
- Time to take the fight to them.
- Smash the skylight and drop down into the storeroom.
- Open the door and back up. Shoot any of the mines to clear the path.
- Go through the door into the security room.
- Grab the sniper rifle off the rack and listen to the radio.
- Snipe the two guards and grab one of the Commandos lying around.
- There's another guard in the little office area.
- Shootdodge in and kill him.
- Loot all the painkillers and ambush the two guards who run in to investigate.
- There's a glowing white panel by a cargo door to the right of the office.

- Use the panel to open the cargo door.
- Shoot the two men on the other side and open the door.
- Shoot the laser mine.
- Then walk forward.
- Another guard will throw a grenade through the hole in the door run back a bit to dodge the blast, then charge into the room to the right with guns blazing.
- Save.
- Go through the next door to the smelting room.
- There are three guards here. Two are right in front of you and a third is up on the catwalks.
- The Commando should make short work of the two in front of you.
- Then just shoot the other through the catwalk.
- Go up onto the catwalk to grab some weapons and painkillers.
- Use the panel on the right to open the cargo door.
- Save.
- Jump onto the rail and use the cold slag as stepping stones to the other side.
- Grab all the painkillers and ammo, then climb up the crates.
- Another guard opens the door and walks in. Just shoot him in the head.
- Walk across the smelting room to the other side and go through the other door.
- Two guards and two laser mines await.
- The idiots will probably blow up the mines with their stray fire. Step out of the room and try to pick them off from a safe distance.
- Go through the door at the end once they're dead.
- There's another area with molten metal.
- Run toward the catwalk to the left.
- Shoot the guard on it and then open up on the guard on the other side of the room. He throws grenades, but you should be moving a lot anyway.
- Once you step onto the catwalk, another guard will come in from behind. Swing around and shoot him.
- Note: This is all pretty easy if you're using the Commando. It has great accuracy and penetration.
- Jump over the rail and run along the metal thing to the left past the opening in the catwalk.
- Jump back onto the catwalk and keep going forward.
- Head up the stairs and go through the door.
- A guard will run out from around the corner. Just use bullet time to waste him.
- Shootdodge around the corner and try to kill the guard before he throws the grenade.
- Shootdodge around the next corner to kill the next guard before he throws his grenade.
- Go through the door at the end.
- There's two guards here. Just use the boxes for cover and shoot them both.
- Go through the next door.
- Shootdodge past the security window to surprise the two guards. Once they're dead, just walk in and listen to their radio.
- Head out the door at the end of the hall once you pick up the ammo.
Hidden Truths
- Shootdodge to the right immediately and kill the guard that comes through the door.
- Shoot the other guard through the security window.
- Go in and read the file on the table.
- There's painkillers in the medicine cabinet.
- Move through the door and kill a third guard.
- Shoot the visible laser mine on the pipe.
- Walk through and twist the valve to stop the fire.
- Head out onto the catwalk. A bomb explodes below, but it doesn't affect you. Shoot the guard on the other catwalk. Another will be on the ground floor. Shoot him from the cover of the catwalk.
- Move into the next room.
- Save.

- Toss a grenade or shoot the far explosive barrel to set off all the explosives. Make sure you take cover.
- Go through the room and onto the other catwalk.
- Another guard has appeared on the catwalk you were just on. Shoot him with the Commando.
- Go across the catwalk and open the door. Toss in a grenade and take cover.
- The laser mines are clear but the pipes are broken.
- Save.
- Time your run and slip past them.
- The middle area is a safe zone, so take them one at a time.
- As you run past the second one, another guard will start shooting. Go into bullet time and take him out.
- Shoot the electrical box in the security room. The door opens.
- Jump over the rail and turn the valve. There's also a ton of ammo on the shelf, so stock up now.
- Open the door and watch the series of explosions. Navigate the half destroyed floor and shoot the man in the security room.
- Drop down to the floor by climbing down the crate on the forklift. You'll take damage if you just jump.
- Press the panel to extend the catwalk's bridge. You can run along the rail though.
- Jump to the other side and shoot the remaining guard.
- Search the container behind him for an M79 and some ammo.
- Turn around and shoot the explosive barrels on the forklift.
- Open the door and step back. The guard inside was wiring a mine, but he has a bit of a work-related accident when you open the door.
- Shoot the other guard who runs out to check.
- Go through the door to the right.
- Just two guards here.
- Use bullet time to quickly kill the one in front of you.
- Shootdodge to get away from the grenade.
- Use the machinery for cover to pick off the second one on the catwalk.
- Use the crates to get on top of the cage. Then jump onto the damaged ramp.
- Tip: Aim for the end of it.
- One more runs through the door above and tosses a grenade. It should just fly right past you. Blow him away before he can even draw a weapon.
- Use the beams to get to the shelves at the back of the room. There's some much needed ammo and painkillers
- Another guard will run through the door at the bottom while you're crossing.
- Just use bullet time to land a headshot.
- Use the door up top to leave.
- Shootdodge to the right and pump the two guard full of lead.
- Take the door to go into the control room. Get the ammo and painkillers from the medicine cabinet.
- Flip the switch to open the doors. Note the man trying to surprise you. Turn around and blast him as he walks through the door.
- Go through the fence and into the next room.
- It's just a standard loading dock. Use shootdodge and bullet time to kill both guards.
- Run onto the control ramp.
- There's a locked cargo door ahead, a crane, and a pile of steel panels. You know what to do.
- Flip the switch (and laugh at the warning sign in front of you). The crane will ram the cargo door.
- Shoot at the damaged spot from behind the control panel.
- Run down and shootdodge across the hole a few times kill the two guards on the other side.
- Note: Watch out for the guy with the shotgun. He's covered the door and will get a close range hit on anything that comes through.
- Shootdodge through the door and kill the man to the left. He has a bad habit of setting off the mines, so be really quick.
- Once he's dead, step back through the door and set off the mines yourself.
- There's a bunch of painkillers and ammo where he was sitting. When you have everything you want, go through the door. at the end.
- It's a giant blast furnace. It's broken too.
- It is possible to jump into the rail car and flip the switch. This will clear the path and mess up an ambush. I didn't think it was worth the effort though.
- Shoot the first laser mine trap.
- Just run down the middle and jump over the hot beam.
- Shoot the second mine trap.
- Avoid the fire and make it to the end.
- Activate the panel to start opening the door.
- Three men are waiting on the other side. Go into bullet time and start running sideways. Shoot whatever is visible until all three are dead.
- The two remaining guards will send a flaming mining cart along the track. Avoid it by taking cover behind the crates.
- Note: Do not touch the cart. It will kill you.
- Shoot from cover to blow up the explosive barrel behind the first guard.
- Then just use the panel to reopen the cargo door.
- Charge in and shoot the lone guard.
- Flip the switch to shut off the furnace. You can grab the sniper rifle now if you want.
- Go through the door in by the burning mine cart.
- One guard is waiting by some more mines. You should know what to do.
- Kill him and the next guard who runs in.
- Set off the mines and walk into the next room.
- This is the first area you walked through on the catwalks.
- Two new guards are here.
- One is on the catwalk and another wanders the floor.
- Use the Commando to pick both of them off.
- The bridge is out, so use the machinery on the right to get to the other side.
- One lone guard watches the elevator to D-6. Shootdodge in and get a headshot.
- Press the panel to call the elevator.
- It will come down loaded with two soldiers.
- Step to the side and shootdodge past them. Land a few shots in each of them to clear the elevator.
- Step in and hit the panel to end the level.
The Deep Six
- Well, that's not good.
- Take cover behind the crates and shootdodge the two agents who come to the glass door.
- Head out to the center floor and look at the logo for another panel.
- The only door open is the one to Processing. Travel through it.
- Three guards are running by. The Commando or the dual Ingrams will work fine.
- Take the door to Test Facilities.
- Keep moving forward and to the right.
- Look at the Cell Access panel. You don't know the code for now.
- Go back to the Laboratories and look at the panels by the airlock. You need to find the code, 665.
- Go back to the panel and activate it.

- This will activate the elevator.
- Grab some painkillers from the nearby room and head down to the cell block.
- Remember the scientist mentioned last chapter. He's locked up in B-7 on the right side of the block.
- Activate the panel to free him.
- Follow him out.
- Once you go up the elevator, two guards will run out. He'll take cover, but you shouldn't count on this to work.
- Turn on bullet time to kill them.
- Just follow him to the airlock.
- Step inside and he'll pass you through to the next area. The guards outside aren't as nice as you though.
- Move forward and stop.
- Two mercenaries chase down a scientist in the room to the left. Their gunfire will hit you. Wait until the door closes to save health and ammo.
- Run down the hallway and enter the room with all the steam and fire.
- Jump onto the counters to the left.
- Run along the counter and jump off to bypass the fire.
- Move down the hall and step into the elevator for Laboratory 2.
- There are about a dozen laser mines throughout the room.
- Throw a few grenades or start shooting carefully.
- None of them are really close enough to be an accidental danger.
- Clear a path to the computer to the right.
- Look at it to learn the truth.
- It's time to leave.
- Clear a path to the elevator for Storage.
- Enter it and go up.
- Head through the storage room and hit the panel to enter the airlock again.
- You have thirty seconds to get to the surface elevator.
- Take cover in the back left corner.
- Save.
- Shoot the laser mine through the airlock glass.
- The door will be blown out towards you.
- Run through the opening.
- The elevator you need is just a little bit ahead of you.
- Jump in and start up the elevator.
- Stand on the edge and ride out the explosion.
- The level is over.
Backstabbing B--tard
- Time to avenge Alex.
- This whole level is very short, but very tough. Save often.
- Two guards run around the corner after the van.
- Shoot them or use the explosive barrel to take them.
- Note: All of the men here are using Commandos, Ingrams, or shotguns.
- Wait behind the corner ahead.
- Two more men are coming.
- Wait until they're close, then shoot them in the head with the Commando.
- Move forward and do down the ramp ahead.
- Two gunman will roll out.

- Shootdodge forward and kill them both.
- Grab more Commando ammo and a bottle of painkillers off the boxes.
- Two more men are ahead. Take cover behind the boxes and use bullet time to kill them.
- Run forward and take cover behind a pillar.
- The van drives around and fires Commando rounds straight forward.
- Stay out of their line of fire until they drive away.
- Two more men are waiting behind the cars by the ramp.
- Take cover behind a car and pick them off.
- Go forward and to the left. There is a medicine cabinet with 4 bottles of painkillers in the back corner.
- Go toward the ramp down.
- One guy is ready to ambush you to the left. Another man rounds the corner with a shotgun. Enter bullet time and waste them both.
- Shootdodge around the corner. Try to stay low. The van will start shooting, but stop shortly after when it blows up a car.
- Pick off the remaining two guards at the bottom.
- Walk down the ramp.
- Shootdodge around the corner and waste another two guards.
- Take cover behind the pillar ahead and wait for the van to stop shooting.
- Tip: Pick up the jackhammer from the dead guards by the gate.
- One more guard is in the back left corner.
- If you take the long way around, you may be better able to ambush him.
- Open the doors of the construction van for some Commando ammo and two bottles of painkillers.
- Two guards round the corner of the ramp.
- Take them out quickly. One has a Commando. That will really hurt at close range.
- Shootdodge past the corner and get a headshot on the guard at the bottom.
- Shootdodge around the wall at the bottom.
- Kill the lone guard on the other side of the gate.
- Shoot the lock and push the gate open.
- Take cover behind the pillar again. The van catches on fire and pulls away shortly.
- Enter bullet time and start running. There should just be one guard to the right. If you shootdodge, the bullets will just hit the wire.
- Run forward. There's one more guard around the corner with a shotgun. Take care of him in the usual shootdodge fashion.
- Jump into the blue barrel against the wall for some Commando ammo.
- Three more guards run out. Take cover behind the van and use whatever you have available to take them out.
- Save.
- Round the corner again and take out another three guards. The brown crates make perfect cover.
- There's a medicine cabinet in this corner with four bottles of painkillers.
- One guard runs out of the supply closet. Shootdodge around the corner again to take him out.
- One more guards runs up the ramp. Shoot him.
- Duck into the supply closet for more ammo. Listen to the radio for the latest news report.
- Shootdodge around the ramp's corner.
- Shoot the shotgun guard at the top and the man at the bottom.
- Run down and take cover behind the blue crates.
- Watch the fireworks.
- One guard will run out in front of the burning van. Enter bullet time and kill him quickly.
- Wait for another guard to rush around the corner. Shoot him.
- Shootdodge out and get a headshot on the guard behind the car.
- Go forward and walk behind the burning van. Open the construction van's door to get some painkillers and ammo.
- Go forward and pick off the lone guard at the corner.
- Round the corner and head for the ramp.
- Shoot the two guards at the top. You should be an expert at this by now.
- Go down the ramp and take cover.
- Shootdodge out and kill the two guards who come by.
- Take cover and watch the explosion.
- Two guards will move away from the burning van.
- One likes to throw grenades, so keep an eye out for them.
- The other has a jackhammer. It's not a fun fight.
- Once they're dead, move straight ahead and go into the attendant's office.
- Grab some ammo for the Commando.
- Head toward the wreckage, but avoid the fire.
- Save.
- Take cover behind a car and shoot the three guards left. It may take a few tries, but you'll get it eventually.
- Heal up and round the corner.
- Stay behind cover though. All that's left is B.B. He uses a M79 to get a few early hits.
- Dodge those and start shooting. I suggest the dual Ingrams for their stopping power.
- Keep shooting until he's dead.
- Answer the phone by the supply closet to complete the level.
In the Land of the Blind
- Go forward and to the left. Jump down the stairs.
- Shoot the laser mines and shootdodge around the corner to ambush the guard who comes to check.
- Shoot the other guard ahead.
- One more guard comes down the steps. Use the racks for cover and blast him. Grab the ammo and go upstairs.
- Wait for the sniper to pass. You're in a bad spot to shoot him.
- Move forward and enter the security room.
- Wait and ambush the two mercenaries who come through the other door.
- Look at the monitor to see that your old friend survived.
- Go through the door and shootdodge left to nail the last guard in the hall.
- Go through the one door with the green keypad and shootdodge forward.

- One guard is waiting to ambush you with Molotovs, so you'll want to shoot him quickly.
- Another two come down the steps. Take care of them as quickly as possible. There's not a lot of cover, so it can get rough.
- Go up the stairs and enter bullet time halfway through. One guard is waiting to ambush you.
- Go up and watch the elevator. It's a trap. Watch for grenades to fall into the elevator.
- Take aim on the elevator after the blast and shoot the mercenary as soon as he drops down.
- Grab the painkillers and go upstairs.
- No guards here surprisingly.
- Go through the double doors to the left. There's a medicine cabinet to the right. Grab some much needed painkillers.
- Head left and just jump over the laser mine. Shootdodge forward and watch the awkward panel in the hall. A mercenary will knock it over and start shooting.
- Enter bullet time and nail the next guard who comes around.
- Shoot the laser mines ahead. Run to the office at the end for some M79 ammo.
- Use the M79 to set off the laser mine at the next hall.
- Go through the door and hide in the recess to the left.
- Let the next mercenary get close and blast him with the Jackhammer.
- Shoot the next guard who comes down the hallway.
- Go through the door at the end to get into Woden's office. Grab the tape off of the desk.
- Grab the blueprints off of the desk in the next room. Look at the TV to learn about Aesir.
- Search the cabinet in the room over for ammo and a bottle of painkillers.
- Save.
- Open the door and then duck back inside.
- Ambush the mercenary when he runs to the door.
- Equip the sniper rifle and snipe the two men on the balcony below.
- Run across the balcony and go through the door.
- Shootdodge the guard coming up the stairs and shoot the laser mines.
- The cutscene shows two guards preparing to storm the room. Wait behind the pillar until they enter, then shoot them while they're clustered at the door.
- There's nothing along the hallway they came from. Ignore the door and take the one to the left to clear out a gunman on the balcony.
- Once he's dead, run back to the stairwell and go down another floor. Ignore the door to the right.
- Go through the door to the left and save.
- There's a laser mine on the stairs, so shootdodging is suicide.
- Throw a grenade to take out the mine and the guards at the bottom.
- Grab the grenade on the crate at the bottom.
- Go through the door and toss the grenade by the crates to kill the agent and blow up the laser mines.
- Turn the corner and shoot some more mines.
- Go through the door at the end to start the next level.
Byzantine Power Game
- Shootdodge to the right and get a headshot on the agent down the hall.
- Run back to the stairs at the start and ambush the two agents rushing toward you.
- Look at the files on the desk for another panel.
- Set off the laser mines to knock over the bookshelves.
- Shootdodge across them to kill the two mercs on the top level.
- After they're dead, run along the shelves and jump onto the ramp.
- Run all along the top level. One more merc starts running toward you from the opposite balcony. Just shoot him when you have a chance.
- Follow the balcony to the end and trigger the grenade throw. Back away and then kill the guard when he rushes the door.
- Go past the stairs for a medicine cabinet with 4 bottles of painkillers.
- Then go up the stairs and through the door to the library.

- Three mercenaries fast rope into the room. Try to shoot at least one of them before they hit the ground. Then, just use the card catalogs for cover and pick off the other two.
- Go up the stairs and avoid any laser mines that they setup.
- Go through the one door with the green keypad.
- Go down the hallway and stop before the end. Two agents walk out of the door after the keypad turns green. Don't let them surprise you.
- Go into the press room and grab the sniper ammo from the table across the room.
- Two agents run through the double doors to the right. Try to ambush them, or at least use the chairs for cover.
- Go through said double doors.
- Two agents are across the big circle with one mercenary on the level below.
- Wait behind the cover of the first partition. Shoot the agent as he walks toward you.
- Run to the other side and shoot the other agent. He has a sniper rifle, so keep running.
- If you have a chance, snipe the mercenary on the level below.
- Go through the exit door across from door you entered.
- Turn right and head for the stairs. Take cover behind the pillar.
- Two mercenaries fast rope in through the skylight. Use the Commando or the Ingram to kill them as they land.
- Go down the stairs and through the door.
- If you sniped the mercenary when you had the chance, there's just one guy throwing grenades.
- Shootdodge across and kill him.
- The door at the end will go green. Wait and ambush the mercenary who runs through.
- Ignore that door. It's just the first stairwell.
- Turn left and shootdodge through the door.
- One guard is covering the door with a Commando, so target him first to limit your damage.
- Run along the circle to kill the other mercenary on the circle.
- Snipe the sniper on the level above if you have a chance.
- Go through the door and down the steps.
- Switch to the dual Ingrams.
- Shootdodge into the board room and kill the two agents.
- Save.
- Go through the door and brace yourself for a big fight.
- Three agents blow up the pillar and take cover behind it.
- Two mercenaries will run into the room in a few seconds.
- Use whatever you can to kill them. The pillars make good cover.
- Tip: The sniper rifle is really effective too. Use bullet time and it's one shot kill ability to take out all five.
Nothing to Lose
- Time to raid the Aesir building
- Note: You have 8 bottles of painkillers and full ammo.
- Go through the metal detectors and equip the M79.
- Blow up the three elite mercenaries as they come around the corner.
- Save.
- Three guards are on the balconies above and across from you.
- They have M79s and will reign fire down upon you from their position.
- Equip the sniper rifle. Run out and enter bullet time. Snipe all three quickly. Their first volley is always shot over your head. If you're fast enough, it will be over fast.
- Save.
- Run forward enough to trigger the two agents, then double back and crouch behind the bench.

- Shoot the two men and go through the door they came through.
- Turn and climb the first escalator. Shoot the laser mine and stop at the top.
- Turn around and shoot a mercenary who runs up to the rail above.
- Drop a grenade at your feet and run back down. This will destroy the two mines blocking your path.
- Then turn and shoot the guard at the top of the escalator.
- Run up and shoot the guard hiding behind the bench. Bullet time should make a headshot easy.
- Shootdodge to the right and nail the last guard running toward you.
- Turn around and climb back up the escalator. Shoot the mines in your way.
- Kill the couple of guards at the top and blast the agent who appears from the corridor.
- Go through the door he left and stand in awe of the laser trip mine system.
- These do explode if you touch them.
- Save.
- Jump over the first two when they're low, then duck under the third when it's high.
- Enter bullet time and blast the guard who appears at the end of the hall.
- Wait for the fourth to sync up at the bottom and jump over.
- Then just go under and over the next two.
- Save and then shootdodge.
- Blast the other two guards guard here.
- Tip: Equip the dual Ingrams, the Commando, or the M79 now.
- Press the button to start a cutscene.
- That's not good. Turn around and shootdodge out to kill the three agents who rush in.
- Press the button again once they're dead.
- Look up and shoot out the glass top.
- Use any weapon to shoot the laser mines in your path. If you hit one, you die.
- There's only about six, but it may take a few tries.
- Once you reach the top, save.
- Equip the jackhammer.
- The doors open and reveal four agents. Two are on the floor with two on the balcony.
- Shootdodge forward and blast the two on the four. Your jackhammer will really hurt at close range.
- Carry out the shootdodge and run under the balcony. Save if you want.
- Reload and shootdodge backwards out into the lobby and try to kill at least one of them. Take cover behind the pillar and the garden to kill the other.
- Go through the green door to the right.
- There's one agent in this security room. Blast him.
- Grab some painkillers from the medicine cabinet and heal up. Save too.
- When you're ready, approach the big panel with the red and green listings.
- Push E once to open the cover. Push it again to give yourself access to the main frame level.
- The security curtains open in a few seconds. Shootdodge out through the door and quickly kill the two agents and the mercenary attacking outside.
- There isn't much cover here, but the security room is a death trap. Try to fight them on open ground outside.
- Once they're dead, get back into the elevator and press the button.
- Face away from the door and crouch to the back right of the elevator.
- A helicopter comes along and starts shooting at the elevator. The low and to the right is usually a safe spot.
- Once the left glass gets shot out, run out and drop down to the elevator below.
- Shoot out the glass and take a breath. It's bulletproof. Switch to the Commando and hit the button.
- Save.
- When the elevator stops, shootdodge out and try to put a string of bullets into the agents to the left.
- Swing around and kill the lone agent to the right.
- Save and take a breath.
- Two more agents are in the room past the partition.
- One on the balcony has a Commando. The one on the ground floor has dual Ingrams.
- Run out to the left and take cover behind the glowing servers.
- Step out to the right a bit and kill the agent on the balcony.
- Then just shootdodge forward and start shooting.
- Tip: You can take cover and wait until he has to reload. It's tough to time it right though.
- Save.
- Switch to the jackhammer.
- Shoot out two of the blue lights on the servers.
- Face the elevator and ambush two mercenaries as they come around the right.
- Shoot out the other two lights.
- The elevator to the right opens and one mercenary is waiting.
- Switch to the M79 and blow him away.
- Get into the elevator and heal.
- The mercenaries should drop two bottles of painkillers between them.
- Press the button.
- Ride up to the top floor.
- Save.
- This area is tough.
- Two mercenaries and an agent run down the stairs as you round the first security blinds.
- Take cover behind either of the pillars and start shooting. The sniper rifle works well here.
- Note: The last one has a jackhammer. At this range, it will kill you quickly.
- Grab any dropped painkillers and save.
- Run up the stairs.
- Tip: For whatever reason, the sawed-off shotgun worked well here. I don't know why the jackhammer didn't get the job done.
- Three more mercenaries are in the office opposite the stairs.
- They will either run together or split up through the doors.
- If they stick together. Just start shooting or use an M79 shot to blow them away.
- If they split up, run to side with one mercenary and kill him. Then ambush the other two when they come near.
- Walk through either door and look at the glowing monitor.
- Turn and take the elevator to the side.
- This completes the level.
Pain and Suffering
- This is it.
- You're almost done.
- Four agents are here.
- Run forward and hide behind the bulletproof glass ahead. Once their grenade blow up, take cover behind a chair and start shooting at the two agents by the sculpture.
- The other two run past the partition. Shoot them as they round the corner.
- Pick up their weapons and watch the bullet screen rise.
- Then, stand behind the ugly abstract sculpture. You don't even have to crouch if you stand behind the tallest part.
- The helicopter will strafe the room for about a minute. Just wait it out. Save at the end.
- The screen will lower and two more agents will run through the double doors ahead.
- Use the backside of the sculpture for cover and get a few headshots.

- Run forward and press the green panel.
- Spin around and shoot the agent in the elevator.
- Grab his painkillers and then walk into the library.
- Go out to the balcony and jump over the railing onto the little running catwalk to the left.
- Start running down it. The helicopter swings around in a second. Run past the fire and duck into the sculpture room.
- Go through the door and swing up the stairs. Blast the one guard on the stairs and save.
- Two guards are behind cover ahead. Shootdodge out and kill both of them.
- Two more run out of the elevator ahead. Take cover behind a chair and kill both of them.
- Tip: They may blow themselves up with a grenade. Count yourself lucky.
- Run to the elevator and take cover again. This will draw an agent out of the middle room.
- Waste him and get ready.
- Walk up to the green door and wait for it to open.
- Run across it a few times to lure out the agents.
- Ambush them as they run toward your door.
- Move into the room and take cover behind a pillar. Snipe the agent moving from the right.
- Walk across the room to the double doors.
- Two agents are behind cover to the left.
- Open the door and shootdodge out. Rake some gunfire across them to get a few kills.
- Go through the little door ahead.
- The door to the right goes green. One agent should run out from the center lounge. Shoot him as he runs out.
- Another rolls out from behind the elevator. Go into bullet time and kill him before he stands up.
- Go up the stairs.
- Four agents are waiting. One is in the lounge ahead and to the right.
- Go forward enough to trigger him. Run backwards and blow him away.
- Three left. Two are on the left side between the walls and the pillars.
- Enter bullet time and step out. The pillar should shield you from the agent on the right.
- Fill the two agents on the left with ammo from the Commando.
- Shootdodge out and kill the last agent to the right.
- Move up to the desk and press E by the little red bottom on the back.
- This opens the emergency escape.
- Nicole Horne is waiting at the top of the stairs. She's using a lot of firepower. Shoot her a few times. She'll throw a grenade and run. It's thrown high, so don't worry about it.
- Save.
- Go through the door at the top and watch the cutscene.
- You need to shoot the last two cables holding the pillar up. Aim for the bolt and take out the remaining two in about 90 seconds.
- You can use any gun you like for this. The M79 and the sniper rifle are particularly suited for it though.
- Five agents run out and try to ambush you after a minute, or after you shoot the first bolt.
- Note: I've heard you can ignore them, but I couldn't shoot the bolt at point blank range before I killed them.
- Run forward and to the right.
- Jump over the rail onto the little spire offshoot holding the cable.
- Switch to the sniper rifle and shoot the gray bolt across from you.
- Switch to the M79 or your grenades and fire at the big group. Use your best weapons to kill them quickly.
- Then just use whatever you have to shoot the final bolt in front of you.
- I usually shoot the tower a few times to be sure.
- Enjoy the ending.
