Maurice Jones-Drew

Professional football running back/kickoff returner Maurice Jones-Drew plays in the National Football League for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On April 15, 2009, Jones-Drew signed a contract extension that will keep him with the Jaguars for an additional five years. The $31 million contract makes him one of the highest-paid running backs in the NFL.ESPN.com: Jones-Drew Signs $31M Deal

Jones-Drew had a tremendous college career with the UCLA Bruins, setting a number of school records as well as an NCAA record for punt return average. Drew accumulated 4,688 all-purpose yards, a school record.

Drew was drafted 60th overall in the 2006 NFL draft out of University of California, Los Angeles. After being selected in the second round of the 2006 draft, Jones-Drew established himself as one of the best small running backs in the NFL. He has also been recognized for his punt-returning abilities. Despite his low draft number, Jones-Drew outperformed many of the running backs of his class during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

Drew bruised his knee during a December 18, 2008, game against the Indianapolis Colts. He missed several days of practice, but did play with the Jaguars as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens on December 28, 2008.Jacksonville.com: Jaguars' Drew Ready to Play Against Ravens
