Early Life
Maurice Eugene Evans was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 8, 1978. He attended high school at Wichita Collegiate and continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2001, Evans participated but was not selected in the NBA Draft. Basketball-Reference.com: Maurice EvansPro Career
Evans made the Minnesota Timberwolves squad out of training camp and played in ten games for the team.NBA.com: Maurice Evans Evans then played for several seasons in Greece. He returned to the NBA in 2004, with the Sacramento Kings. His breakout season came in 2005, when he signed as a free agent with the Detroit Pistons. He played in 80 games for the Pistons and averaged 14 minutes per game. In 2006, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
