In his first season, Ager started the 2007-2008 campaign with the Dallas Mavericks. On February 19, 2008, he was traded to the New Jersey Nets with Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop, Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell for point guard Jason Kidd.
