Buying Guide
Mattress pads are sold by size, in the same sizes that mattresses are sold, in crib, twin, full, queen and king. Basic inexpensive mattress pads are thin layers of cotton or wool and are shaped much like a fitted bed sheet. Some mattress pads have a rubber backing to protect the mattress from spills and body fluids are are used as preventative to bedwetting. Some versions enclose the entire mattress to protect it from insects and other allergens. Other higher end versions are made of foam to add comport to sleeping. Memory Foam is commonly used in high end mattress pads, which uses heat sensitive material to conform around the occupant. Other models offer electrical features to either heat or cool the pad or add a customizable amount of air under the sleeper for added comfort.-
