Matthew Fox

American actor Matthew Fox portrays medical doctor and leader of the Oceanic survivors "Jack Shephard" on the ABC drama Lost. Previously, he starred as older brother Charlie Salinger on the FOX television drama Party of Five. Other notable roles include We Are Marshall and Vantage Point.

Raised on a horse ranch, Fox first wanted to work as a stockbroker, then tried his hand at modeling before deciding to move Los Angeles to begin his acting career.

Jack Shephard is a Los Angeles based spinal doctor who boards Oceanic Flight 815 in Sydney, Australia. He went to find his father who passed away during a drinking binge in Australia. During the flight home, the plane went down somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Now Shephard must care for and lead the group of survivors home without succumbing to the same fate as his father.
