NHL Career
Carle was drafted 47th overall in the 2003 NHL draft by the San Jose Sharks. He did not join the NHL right away, but played three seasons at the University of Denver and led them to NCAA Championships in 2004 and 2005. Carle joined the Sharks in 2006 for his NHL debut. He continued with the Sharks through the 2007-08 regular season, then was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning on July 4, 2008.
