Matt Thornton is a Major League Baseball player. He is currently a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox.

Early Life

Matthew J. Thornton was born in Three Rivers, Michigan, on September 15, 1976. He attended college at Grand Valley State University. In 1998, Thornton was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 22nd pick in the Major League Baseball amateur draft.Baseball-Reference.com: Matt Thornton

Pro Career

On June 27, 2004, Thornton made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners. In his first season with the Mariners, he appeared in 19 games and finished the season with a record of one win and two losses. In 2006, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox for Joe Borchard.MLB.com: Matt Thornton
