Matt Stover is a professional football kicker for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. College Career

Matt Stover attended Louisiana Tech University and got a degree in marketing. As a football players, he kicked and also punted senior season. As a freshman, Stover was named Rookie of the Year. He made 15 of 23 field goal attempts as a junior and 15 of 20 as a senior. Stover had seven career field goals of greater than 50 yards and a longest punt of 57 yards. NFL Career

Matt Stover was drafted by the New York Giants in 1990, but was placed on injured reserve on September 4 and never played with the Giants. In 1991, he joined the Cleveland Browns and became the first-string kicker. Stover was a member of the Browns in 1996 when the franchise moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens. He made a career long 55 yard field goal during his rookie season on November 17, 1991. He also made a game winning 45 yard field goal on September 15, 1991 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Stover had made only a little more than 70 percent of his field goals during his first three years in the league. But in 1994 he connected on 28 of 30 field goal attempts for 92.9 percent success rate. On September 21, 1997 Stover made five field goals against the Tennessee Titans, which tied the Ravens record for most field goals made in a game. In 2000 Stover made a career high 35 field goals on 39 attempts. On October 21, 2001 Stover set a record when he made his 32nd consecutive field goal, breaking the old mark set by Fred Cox. In 2006, Matt Stover had his finest season when he converted on 28 of 30 attempts for 93.3 percent success rate. In 2009, he took over the kicking duties for the Indianapolis Colts when Adam Vinatieri got injured.
