  • Matt Stairs is an MLB outfielder with the Philadelphia Phillies. A native of Canada, Stairs played for the Canadian Baseball team in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea before signing a minor league contract with the Montreal Expos. Stairs has played for a total of ten Major League teams over the course of his fifteen year career including the Expos, Red Sox, Athletics, Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Royals, Rangers, Tigers, and the Blue Jays.
  • Strengths

    Stairs is a slugger, and uses his swing to generate power to all fields. His ability to play four positions first base, right field, left field, and Designated Hitter makes him a valuable utility player. Stairs also boasts a strong throwing arm.[1]
  • Weaknesses

    Stairs can swing himself into a slump when he looks to pull the ball too often. He also struggles to hit lefties. Stairs' limited range in the outfield.[1]
