Matt Morris

  • Matt Morris is a right-handed pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. After attending Valley Central High School in Montgomery, NY, The Milwaukee Brewers selected Morris in the 26th round of the 1992 amateur draft. Morris declined to sign a contract, and went on to attend [[Seton Hall University] in New Jersey. Following his collegiate career, the St. Louis Cardinals made Morris the 12th pick of the 1995 draft. After an 8-year career in St. Louis, which included an All-Star selection in 2002 and a trip to the 2004 world Series, Morris signed a free agent contract with the San Francisco Giants. On July 31, 2007 the Giants traded Morris to the Pirates in exchange for Rajai Davis and Stephen MacFarland.
