  • Hockey Career

    Gilroy played hockey in high school at St. Mary's High School in New York, leading the team to two state championships. He was also selected as the team's MVP and the Athlete of the Year. Gilroy went on to play in the Eastern Junior Hockey League for the Walpole Junior Stars, scoring 24 goals and 29 assists in the 2004-2005 season.Boston University: Matt Gilroy

    He joined the Boston University Terriers in 2005, playing in 36 his first season, recording two goals and six assists. Gilroy's numbers improved in his sophomore season, tallying nine goals and 17 assists and earning All-American Second Team and Hockey East All-Star First Team honors. Continuing in the 2007-2008 season, Gilroy was selected for the All-American First Team and given the Bob Monahan Award as the top defenseman in New England.
