  • Matt Cullen is an American professional hockey player currently playing for the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League.
  • NHL Career

    Prior to joining the National Hockey League, Cullen played two seasons of college hockey at St. Cloud State University. He was drafted 35th overall in the 1996 NHL Draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He made his NHL debut in 1997, continuing on to play nearly six seasons with the Ducks. Cullen was then traded to the Florida Panthers on January 30, 2003. He entered the free agency in 2004, signing with the Carolina Hurricanes on August 5, 2004. After playing a single season with the Hurricanes, and winning the Stanley Cup in 2006, Cullen signed with the New York Rangers on July 1, 2006. He completed the 2006-07 season with the Rangers then was traded back to the Hurricanes on July 17, 2007.
