Matt Coffin is the CEO and founder of LowerMyBills.com, a Santa Monica-based company that helps consumers get the most favorable rates for a variety of commonly paid monthly expenses.
Brief Biography
Coffin was raised on the northern coast of Maine and grew up in and around a hardware store run by his parents. After graduating from Babson College in 1990, Coffin moved to Boston and then New York with his future wife, Natasha Esch. After founding the magazine Fashion Reporter, Coffin and Esch moved to Los Angeles and Coffin was hired as the director of development at the Miller Publishing Group. In 1999, Coffin quit his job to found LowerMyBills.com, a site which serves as a central location where consumers can comparison shop everything from home loans to credit card rates to cell phone plans. In 2005, LowerMyBills.com was acquired by Experian for $330 million. Coffin's success made him a regional winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007.
