Matt Chico is a left-handed pitcher for the Washington Nationals. After attending Fallbrook Union High School, the Boston Red Sox selected Chico in the 2nd round of the 2001 amateur draft. He declined a contract however, and went on to play baseball at Palomar College. Following his collegiate career, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected him in the 3rd round of the 2003 draft. After being traded by the Diamondbacks, Chico made his MLB debut with the Nationals on April 4, 2007.
