Matt Bradley is a hockey player for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League.
Career Highlights
Prior to playing in the NHL, Bradley played for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League, starting in 1995. He was drafted 102nd overall in the 1996 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks. During his final year in the OHL, Bradly was awarded the William Hanley Trophy, for the most gentlemanly player in the league. In 1998, Bradley joined the Kentucky Thoroughblades, a Sharks' American Hockey League affiliate. He made his NHL debut with the Sharks in the 2000-01 regular season, splitting the year between the NHL and AHL. After two additional seasons in San Jose, Bradley was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 11, 2003. He played one year in Pittsburgh then went to Austria to play during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. He returned to the NHL as a free agent, signing with the Washington Capitals on August 18, 2005. Most recently, on July 26, 2006, Bradley renewed his contract with the Capitals for an additional two years.
