Republican Matt Blunt is the current Governor of Missouri. He announced in January of 2008 that he would not seek re-election for a second term.

Blunt recieved a Bachelor's degree in History and became an officer in the U.S. Navy, where he received several achievement medals for his service.Political Career
Blunt joined the Missouri House of Representatives in 1998 and was elected Missouri Secretary of State two years later. In 2005, he took office as the 54th Governor of Missouri.-
