Matt Kelly Barnes was born in Santa Clara, California, on March 9, 1980. He attended high school at Del Campo High School. As a senior in high school Matt averaged 30 points, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks, 5 steals and 3 assists a game. He was also an All-American wide receiver in high school leading the nation with 28 touchdown catches. After an excellent high school career he went on to play basketball at UCLA. At UCLA he played in 121 games in four seasons. He averaged 8.8 points per game, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assist a game. Matt became the 43rd player to reach 1,000 career points for UCLA. After an astonishing career at UCLA he entered the 2002 NBA Draft. He was chosen in the second round by the Memphis Grizzlies. He was soon then traded to Cleveland for Wesley Person but failed to make the team.

Matt Barnes most current season comes in the 2009-2010 season. He plays for the Orlando Magic and might have found a home after playing for six teams and not making the roster on a couple others. Matt has helped the Orlando Magic to a 59-23 record. That is second best in the Eastern Conference behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.
