  • Matmos is the stage name for an experimental electronic music duo based in San Francisco that formed in 1995. Their music is typically composed of sampled sounds from random conceptual objects in normal, every day life, including liposuction surgery, whoopee cushions, whistles and kisses. This style is similar to, and has garnered comparisons with the French musical movement, musique concrete. Although Matmos has two principle members, they often collaborate with other artists both on recording and in live performance.
