  • Matchbox Twenty is an Alternative Rock band that achieved a considerable amount of commercial success in the 1990s with their brand of Post-Grunge modern rock. After forming in Orlando, Florida, the band released their debut album Yourself or Someone Like You in 1996 and became a Top-40 radio juggernaut with hits such as "Push", "3 A.M." and "Real World". After a brief break in which lead singer Rob Thomas took some time to collaborate with Carlos Santana on the song "Smooth", the band released their second album Mad Season, which was equally well received. After a hiatus, in which Thomas took time to record his debut solo album, the band reunited in 2007 for the retrospective album Exile on Mainstream.
