Mastodon is a Heavy Metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. The group was nominated for Best Metal Performance in 2006 for their song "Colony of Birchme" from the album Blood Mountain.

Career
Mastodon came on the scene with their first demo, appropriately called the "9 Song Demo". They were then signed to Relapse Records and released the albums Lifebood and Remission to critical praise. The group is currently working on their sixth album that is set to drum in the summer of 2008.Band Members
