• Master Chief is a genetically enhanced super soldier known as John-117. He is the main character in the Halo series and has also appeared in several Halo novels, as well. He is never seen without his cybernetic armor and mask, and says very little over the course of the game. The intent of the developers was to provide a heroic and skilled warrior with a vague personality so that the player would imagine themselves as the main character.
